The KW Titans want Kitchener Waterloo to #TurnItUP

Yesterday we attended the Season Four kickoff event for the KW Titans.  We have been at kickoff events for the team in gyms and tech hubs but this year the KW Titans took a very different approach and held the gathering in the historic Huether Hotel.  Perhaps this is to represent their intent to leave their mark on KW’s history.  Last season was a milestone for the team as they made it to the Central Division finals, but this year Coach Cavell Johnson has a lot in common with Captain Marvel

The KW Titans are aiming high with hopes to go further into the playoffs and become a fast team in order to become National Basketball League of Canada Champions.

Right now, they are in the midst of Exhibition games but next week they take the court for the Home Opener.

KW Titans Season Four Home Opener

On Saturday December 28, 2019 the KW Titans play their first home game of the season at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium at 2pm. It will be a great afternoon of professional basketball and they want their fans to turn up to see them play and #TurnItUP all season.

KW Titans Team Veteran Ed Horton even mentioned it during the player Q&A at the event.  He is looking forward to hearing the crowd get loud at the games especially when the opposing team is shooting their foul shots.

We think this will be a great way to spend the Christmas Break.  You may even want to get your family tickets as Christmas Gifts.

KW Titans Propose To Put Kitchener Waterloo On The Basketball Map By Marrying Old Traditions With New Ones

Yesterday in front of a crowd of over 2000 the KW Titans took to the court at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.  While the crowd was there to enjoy the KWTitans Home Opener they were treated to lots of unexpected events throughout the game.

It began when Power Forward, Cavell Johnson jumped in on the player introductions to first thank the fans for supporting the team, but then to make proposal of marriage to his girlfriend and you can see by the image below she said YES!

Next Kitchener Mayor Berry Vrbanovic presented the official game ball to the team.

Soon after the basketball game got underway the Titans announced a new tradition of the fans standing until the team scores their first basket.  That didn’t take long to accomplish and the energy in THE AUD kept the team in the lead for the better part of the first half.

During the breaks the fans were introduced to the original TEAM TITANS, participated in t-shirt and merchandise tosses and two fans got to compete in a free throw challenge.

The second half was a nail biter as the teams were neck and neck.  To keep spirits high, they had their young fans head to centre court for quick CHICKEN DANCE, a dance almost every Kitchener Waterloo resident is familiar with and one lucky fan got to take 3 point tosses. While the final quarter had both teams fighting for the win, the game ended with the visitors defeating the KW Titans.  Don’t think this means the team felt defeated.  The crowd cheered and fans lined up to meet the players after the exciting game.

We were thrilled to see so many Stuff To Do With Your Kids In Kitchener Waterloo families at the game! As you can tell it was a fantastic day of basketball and family fun. Make sure you don't miss any of the fun by bringing your family to the upcoming games as well.
