Civic Holiday and August 2014 Activities Events and Stuff To Do In Kitchener Waterloo

During the summer months there are a lot of choices in the Kitchener Waterloo area. To make it a bit easier I am listing all the ongoing/weekly events at the top, scroll down to see individual events by date.

Brunswick Frederick Lanes , Kitchener's original 10 pin bowling ally! Is offering special 'Ball Passes' to families in the Stuff to do with your kids in Kitchener Waterloo Group! It's for kids 18 and under. These Ball Passes give kids 2 FREE games of bowling EVERY DAY this summer! They also get a discounted shoe rental of $1.75! Kids Hop @ Kitchener Market
Bring your little ones to the Kitchener Market every Tuesday from 11a.m.-noon for a fabulous, fun-filled morning! Be prepared for a high-energy, hopping good time at these FREE weekly children’s events as our performers entertain your tots!

Bike It You'll Like It @ Kitchener City Hall
Join us for a community bike ride and receive a $5 lunch coupon at the Kitchener Market! Every Tuesday in July and August. Meet at 11:50am at Kitchener City Hall. Rides are 20-25 minutes and are led by Easy Riders Cycling Club. All rides end at the Kitchener Market where cyclists can enjoy a discounted lunch.

Tour the Kitchener Market with ChefD: Saturday, Aug. 9, 9:30 a.m.
Join us for a free tour and cooking class on the second Saturday of every month. ChefD will take a group around the lower market, showing off his favorite local vendors. Once the tour is done you can come back up to the Marketplace and watch a live cooking demonstration by ChefD preparing the ingredients he's purchased! Sample the dish and then feel free to continue exploring the market on your own. Note: This is a free event, if you wish to attend please register.
Baden Cornfest
I have been told that Entrance into the festival itself and most of the entertainment is free. Some activities have a cost, including the corn fest supper ($12 for adult; $8 for kids under 8) and the dance ($10) and the breakfast may be around $10

The K-W Optimist is having an E-waste event at the Canadian Tire Store at 400 Weber St N, Waterloo, ON N2J 3J3.
The E-waste bin will be located behind the Canadian Tire Gas Bar in the Canadian Tire main parking lot.
The event is on Saturday & Sunday August 9 & 10 from 8 AM - 5 PM.
All electronics items are welcome. Please no garbage.
All processes will go directly to the K-W Optimist Club youth programs.

Minecraft Mayhem For Teens

Everyone age 19 and under is invited to join in the mayhem! We’ll have 24 computers and 10 iPads running Minecraft Pocket Edition. Players can sign up for 1-hour slots – or please feel free to bring your own laptop or tablet. There will also be games and offline crafting.

Build A Bike & Walk A Thon

Code Yellow, a CAA contractor in the Kitchener/Waterloo area, will be building bikes to benefit local kids. Our drivers will be assembling bikes straight out of the box, and donating them to the Big Brothers and Sisters of Waterloo. Each bike will be inspected for safety prior to presenting them to the local children. This event will be in conjunction with Code Yellow's Twinkle of Hope Foundation Walk-A-Thon, so please come out and join us for a day of fun and good will!
