With Cavell Johnson at the helm for this full season it is sure to be a sensational season for the team.  Take a listen as he introduces his players for the 2018-2019 KW Titans season.

The Season Kicks off This November

The Season Opener for the KW Titans third season in the National Basketball League of Canada is Sunday November 18, 2018 at 2pm at THE AUD where they will be taking on the Sudbury Five for the first time.  It is a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon here in the City of Kitchener.

Then later in the week catch the KW Titans on Thursday evening on November 22, 2018 at 7pm when the Windsor Express head to town.  That night Movember KW will be in the Community Corner to celebrate this year’s Movember Canada campaign.

This is sure to make it a NOVEMBER TO REMEMBER with the KW TITANS!

KW Titans Propose To Put Kitchener Waterloo On The Basketball Map By Marrying Old Traditions With New Ones

Yesterday in front of a crowd of over 2000 the KW Titans took to the court at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.  While the crowd was there to enjoy the KWTitans Home Opener they were treated to lots of unexpected events throughout the game.

It began when Power Forward, Cavell Johnson jumped in on the player introductions to first thank the fans for supporting the team, but then to make proposal of marriage to his girlfriend and you can see by the image below she said YES!

Next Kitchener Mayor Berry Vrbanovic presented the official game ball to the team.

Soon after the basketball game got underway the Titans announced a new tradition of the fans standing until the team scores their first basket.  That didn’t take long to accomplish and the energy in THE AUD kept the team in the lead for the better part of the first half.

During the breaks the fans were introduced to the original TEAM TITANS, participated in t-shirt and merchandise tosses and two fans got to compete in a free throw challenge.
 

The second half was a nail biter as the teams were neck and neck.  To keep spirits high, they had their young fans head to centre court for quick CHICKEN DANCE, a dance almost every Kitchener Waterloo resident is familiar with and one lucky fan got to take 3 point tosses. While the final quarter had both teams fighting for the win, the game ended with the visitors defeating the KW Titans.  Don’t think this means the team felt defeated.  The crowd cheered and fans lined up to meet the players after the exciting game.

We were thrilled to see so many Stuff To Do With Your Kids In Kitchener Waterloo families at the game! As you can tell it was a fantastic day of basketball and family fun. Make sure you don't miss any of the fun by bringing your family to the upcoming games as well.

Meet The KW Titans’ Sutherland Brothers

Today I had the opportunity to meet Tramar and Tramique Sutherland at the KW Titans Media Launch.  While the press conference part of the KW Titans media day was a great way to kick off the inaugural season, getting to know this sibling duo provided some insight on what we can expect to see this basketball season.

Sibling rivalry and brotherly love is what keeps The Sutherlands competitive.  Growing up playing backyard basketball, as they put it, seemed like the only opportunity for them compete.  Because of their age difference, Tramar born in 1989 and Tramique born in 1993, they were never in the same divisions when it came to playing on teams.  This will all change this month when the brothers take to the court at The Kitchener Auditorium as part of #TeamTitans.   Knowing each other’s game play very well they believe they can anticipate each other’s moves and perhaps by instinct know what each other is thinking during the game.

Advice From Tramar and Tramique Sutherland

When asked what message they like to send to the kids of our local Stuff To Do With Your Kids In Kitchener Waterloo blog they gave encouraging sentiments about staying competitive and making sure to stay in school.  They take both of these messages to heart themselves and feel as though those are some of the reasons why they have reached the level of professional basketball players.

Meet The Sutherland Brothers And The KW Titans Team Tonight

Tonight (December 15,2016) the KW Titans will be having a Meet and Greet at the Boston Pizza Alpine location on Ottawa St. in Kitchener.  It gives the community a chance to meet KW’s newest professional team.  They will be on hand for from 6pm-7:30pm.  We think this would be a great family friendly event to help get to know the team members, coaching staff, and maybe even the KW Titans Mascot Titus The Titan.

You might also meet other families that are interested in attending the KW Titans games!

Reminder the KW Titans Have Two Events To Mark On Your Calendar

This Saturday have fun while giving back to our local community! The KW Titans are hosting an EXHIBITION CHARITY GAME at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium at 2pm on December 17,2016. Admission is only $5 plus an unwrapped toy.  The proceeds will be going to the Salvation Army Christmas Kettle.  We think it’s a great way to see if your family will enjoy spending time together watching the KW Titans basketball games.

Plus on Boxing Day, December 26, 2016 the KW Titans Home Opener begins at 7pm.  It’s a great way to spend some time together over the Christmas Holiday! KW Titans Bring Pro Basketball To Kitchener Waterloo – Enter To Win

December 2016 will see the first tip off of the newest NBL Canada professional basketball team here in it Kitchener Waterloo.  The KW TITANS will be taking to the court at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium, aka THE AUD, to shoot some hoops! According to Greek mythology a TITAN is giant with incredible strength, which sounds a lot like most pro basketball players, so the team name suits the team well.

 

KW Titans Inaugural Season

The first season for the KW Titans will include 40 games and the home games are sure to be exciting. With tickets just $21 for ages 13-64 and $17 for seniors and children 12 and under, per game, it is a very affordable night out! Want to get tickets for the whole season? KW Titans Charity Exhibition Game

Want to give the KW Titans a “try out” before the home opener? They are hosting an Exhibition Charity Game on Saturday December 17 at 2pm.

Come out and watch your KW Titans face off against the Chautauqua Hurricanes in our first exhibition game on December 17th at 2pm at the Aud. Admission is a donation of $5 and an unwrapped toy to support the Salvation Army Christmas Kettle.
