Research Studies @ UofW Contact Lens Research
Currently the top contact lens research centre in the world is continuing to accomplish great things through research done right here at UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO. The studies are non-invasive and all of our participants are compensated at $20/hr for their time and often get free contact lenses or glasses. Right they are recruiting 7-11 year olds to participate in a 3yr study cclr.uwaterloo.ca

Infant Studies Group
If you’re looking for something new and fun to do with your child, we would love to have you participate in one of our studies! Help us discover how children learn about language and the world around them. Typical studies involve a one time, half hour visit. Youth Drum and Bugle Corps
Great program for youths in the KWC area. Our participants come not only from Cambridge, but Waterloo, Kitchener, Brantford, and surrounding areas as well. We are not the Scouts. We are not the Army, Navy or Sea Cadets. We are a the only Youth Drum and Bugle Corps in the area!
No experience required and we have a modest membership fee ($20 per year). We provide a unique musical education program that not only teaches kids to play music or perform colour guard, we instruct them how to march, perform and basically just have fun! Session Details:
The purpose of the session is help families understand and respond to their baby’s sleep patterns and language, which will in turn strengthen family relationships and contribute to achieving optimal child health.
The 1.5 hour session will be offered weekly starting January 2016 at all three Ontario Early Years Main sites with a mix of daytime, evening and weekend timings

Earth Sciences Museum @ University Of Waterloo
Conestoga Rovers Learning Centre (the “Dino pit”) open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
The museum’s main atrium, mining tunnel, Great Lakes fountain and stunning mineral exhibits open evenings Monday to Friday and weekends from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Movies Under The Stars @ Shades Mill Cambridge (beginning June 10)

Come watch movies under the stars starting at dusk every Friday night beginning June 10 and continuing until mid- September in the new outdoor amphitheatre at Shade’s Mills Park on Avenue Road in Cambridge. Please note that movies are sometimes cancelled due to poor weather.
Movies start shortly before sunset, and the times vary between 9 p.m. during the longer days of June and July to 7:30 p.m. in September. Cancellations due to poor weather or schedule changes will be posted on the GRCA events calendar, Facebook and Twitter, or call the park at 519-621-3697.

Kitchener Rangers Fan Fest BBQ
The Kitchener Rangers will host their annual Fan Fest and Barbecue in support of the Children’s Wish Foundation on Sunday, September 4th, 2016 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at The Aud.
Fans have the opportunity to meet the Rangers players, enjoy a BBQ lunch and take part in a number of activities including inflatable games and rides!
The Sun Life Financial Kids In Gear program will be on hand to collect equipment. Fans are encouraged to bring new or gently used hockey equipment to donate to those members of our community that would very much appreciate the gesture!
Following the BBQ, the Rangers will host their first exhibition game of the year.

Our yearly community Hilltop Festival is one of our events you don't want to miss.  Featuring a free bbq, live entertainment, pony rides, bouncy castle and other inflatables, the Nimblebus, door prizes and more, you'll want to invite kids and adults of all ages to this fun, free afternoon of activities running from 12 noon to 4 pm (rain or shine).

KITCHENER Ringette Association is happy to be hosting a Come Try Ringette Event.
This is a free event for all children 4 years and older.  All you will need to bring is a helmet, skates, protective gloves or winter gloves(these are ok too).  We will have ringette sticks on hand to borrow for the event.  Snacks will be provided to children after the event.

First ball drops at 10am in Extend-A-Family Waterloo Region’s parking lot. The First Peoples Festival @ Waterloo Region Museum (DOON)9:30am-2:30pm
Celebration of First Nations, Métis and Inuit cultures, history and realities for school children in grades 6 to 12.
