Young gardeners get their
hands in the soil early this year, in this child-friendly indoor gardening
experience with our Heritage Gardener Bob Wildfong.Learn about seeds and plants, flowers and food, and take home something to grow in your own garden. A range of activities will delight green thumbs of ages three through five.
Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Appropriate for children aged three to five. $9 plus HST per child. Advance registration is required. Capacity limited. 10 percent membership discount applies. Help plant a new 800-tree forest at the
site of the future Guelph Lake Nature Centre. In addition to family-friendly
tree planting, this event features a traditional Aboriginal welcome and land
acknowledgement, a visit from the BIOBus (a mobile research unit from the
University of Guelph) and food trucks. Stay for an interpretive tour and an
opportunity to learn more about the nature centre that will attract 20,000
students and thousands of visitors each year. Note that the new nature centre
will be inside Guelph Lake Park. Admission to the park is free for this event
10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with voluntary donations to the new Guelph Lake Nature
Centre.
