The high flying fun at Monster Jam was front and center at London's Budweiser Gardens this weekend. Not only did the famous Monster Trucks show off their stuff, the ZOMBIE truck made it's debut in the arena. It was a great surprise for all the spectators!
We also followed up with the family that won our Maple Leaf Monster Jam Tickets, and here is what our ticket winner had to say about their first time at Monster Jam.
The kids loved it and it was fun for me too!
Now that they had a taste of the action, I'm sure that won't be their last trip to see all the Monster Trucks at Monster Jam!

Getting In Gear For Maple Leaf Monster Jam
While these are not mandatory items I suggest you bring a back-pack of "gear" to Maple Leaf Monster Jam.

Noise cancelling earphones (the kind you see construction workers wear)
A homemade poster to show you are a Monster Jam fan
A sharpie marker just incase you have the opportunity to get a driver's autograph
Your camera to capture all the Monster Jam memories

Big Music Fest returned to Kitchener for the second year in a row and we were there to cover the event. This year's festival turned out to be a one day event, but they packed it with a lot of punch!
Big Music Fest began with last year's BREAKING BANDS winner THE MODERN HEARTS. There is no doubt in my mind that you'll be hearing a lot more from this fantastic band in the upcoming months.
Next up was the only group with a female band member, The Mohrs
After that, the most energenic band of the day, THE GLORIOUS SONSset the tone for the rest of the festival. They really got everyone up and moving during their set!
They even managed to get the crowd to sing along to MAMA (remember this was in the middle of the afternoon, when everyone was headed to the beer garden, so I call that a concert win for The Glorious Sons).
Then it was flashblack time, (remember I mentioned I went to their concert back when they first hit it big) with a high energy performance by EXTREME
Next came Canadian faves MONSTER TRUCK to stage. They took the crowd by storm with their amp'd up show.
Then the crowd came pouring in when JANE'S ADDICTION hit the Big Music Fest stage.
and I was able to take what I have deemed as THE PIC OF THE DAY! Hello @DaveNavarro!
The show finished off with headliners SOUNDGARDEN, and with no encores (by any of the bands) it did leave the crowd wanting more.
While this year's Big Music Fest was very different from last year's event it still was a BIG WIN for Kitchener, Ontario Canada. If more big name acts see that the Region of Waterloo supports the music scene then we will certainly see more bands wanting to play here. Plus this gives young talent in the area more exposure to mentors in the music industry. We see it as win-win for both musicians and fans!

UPDATE - Dave Navarro must agree with my earlier statement, as he RT'd it!!!
I remember my son first went to see Monster Jam years ago. It was very exciting. He brought a homemade poster with printed out pics of the trucks he was hoping to see live. We went early to enjoy the pit party and he had to opportunity to meet several of the drivers. He had so much fun running from giant truck to giant truck I didn't know if he'd have any energy left for the actual Monster Jam competition! Well he did and we had a great time!
