Disney’s Dumbo and Cinderella Show How Being Different Makes You Special

We'll start with the Disclaimer - Yes we did receive complimentary copies of these films, but this just means we're able to offer you a chance win them too! Enter the contest at the end of this post

DISNEY’S DUMBO IS NOW AVAILABLE ON DIGITAL AND BLU-RAYTM.

In the remake of Dumbo even the story itself is different from the original, which makes it special.  This version introduces the Farrier family to the story.  As Holt Farrier arrives home from the war he must adapt to life as widower while raising two children that are truly being raised in a circus. Holt returns a very different man than when he left. He does not understand that differences in his life and the paths that his children have chosen are not to be hidden. Soon they learn that the circus has more in store for them than they might be ready for. Much like the original movie a baby elephant with enormous ears arrives and the adventure begins.  In addition to Farrier family adapting to their new life, Dumbo must adapt to being part of the circus and soon the circus itself has to adapt to being part of something completely different.  It is only once everyone begins to celebrate their differences that they learn they have destiny on their side.

CINDERELLA: ANNIVERSARY EDITION IS NOW AVAILABLE ON DIGITAL AND BLU-RAYTM.

In the animated version of Cinderella, it begins as a story of a girl who had her Mother pass away and her Father decides to marry a woman with two daughters.  After her Father dies the girl is raised by her wicked Stepmother and constantly ridiculed by her Step-Sisters who treat her like a servant.  Feeling different from her Step-Family, Cinderella chooses to befriend the animals in her home as a way escape her unfortunate circumstances.  After word is sent out throughout the land that their will be a royal ball, her Stepmother and Step-Sisters ensure that Cinderella will not have a way to attend.  They do not know that with the help of her friends something special is about to make everything different for Cinderella.

In both films it shows how being different can be challenging, but it is what makes everyone so special.  Something else that is very special is our news that we are giving away Disney’s Dumbo and Cinderella: Anniversary Edition to a lucky reader.

With a little help from some friends, Cindy learns all the necessary skills, and soon becomes an organizational whiz! When the Prince announces a fancy ball, Cindy knows that it’s her big chance to finally get noticed, for all the right reasons, as she takes her fate into her own hands.

Disney On Ice Dare To Dream Recap #DisneyOnIce

What To Expect At Disney On Ice Dare To Dream

Many of our readers know that we were headed to Disney On Ice Dare To Dream and we have to say we enjoyed it just as much as when we went to Disney On Ice Worlds Of Fantasy!

It began with an upbeat musical number.....

..... which took place in a cafe called TIARAS! Can you believe it?  We felt like that number was just for us! Then the Princess story lines began.  The first was Snow White then it transitioned to Cinderella.

Then the story of Tangled began which included special effects, aerial acrobatics and of course ice skating!

All of these stories were introduced by Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald and Goofy.  When the show came to the big finale the characters featured through out the show were joined by special guest Disney Princesses too!

You can see our pics by clicking on the image below.

What To Expect From Cinderella And Frozen Fever

Cinderella's Ball And Anna's Birthday

On March 11th we (and our winners) we treated to an Advanced Screening of Cinderella And Frozen Fever courtesy of Walt Disney Studios Canada.  The movie both highlight celebrations! First up is Anna's birthday in Frozen Fever followed by the amazing Royal Ball in the full length live action feature film Cinderella.

Frozen Fever

The magic began with the short film FROZEN FEVER where Elsa decided to make up for lost time with a birthday celebration, but things don't go as expected when Elsa catches a cold!

Frozen Fever takes us through a tour of Arendelle with a the new song MAKING TODAY A PERFECT DAY. Which can now be downloaded on iTunes.  See the link in the image below to download it!

This delightful song was a collaberation from Oscar®-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez (“Up Here”) and Robert Lopez (“Broadway’s “The Book of Mormon”) and composer Christophe Beck (“Cake”).

For more information on Walt Disney Records releases, become a fan at Facebook.com/disneymusicemporium or follow

Cinderella

The live action version of Disney's Cinderella have more to it than what you would expect.  While many of story lines from the animated version do cross over, as expressed in the video below, it has a lot more emotional moments throughout the film.

The film does a very good job of going deeper into the devestation Cinderella experienced in losing her Mother followed by her Father.  It also expresses the anguish she experiences by trying to keep up her family home that is now ruled by her evil stepmother and two step sisters.  While these are the lowest moments in her life, she keeps her promise to her Mother, "Have Courage And Be Kind" which becomes a running theme throughout the film.  When she is about to abandon her promise and give up, that is when the magic of a fairytale takes over.

Cinderella And Frozen Fever Advanced Screening - Enter To Win With Your #CinderellaMoment

The Classic Tale Of Cinderella Becomes A Live Action Film

The story of “Cinderella” follows the fortunes of young Ella (Lily James) whose merchant father remarries following the death of her mother. Eager to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new Stepmother (Cate Blanchett) and her daughters Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drisella (Sophie McShera) into the family home. But, when Ella’s father unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family.
Soon, she is forced to become their servant, disrespected, covered in ashes and spitefully renamed Cinderella. Yet, despite the cruelty inflicted upon her, Ella will not give in to despair nor despise those who mistreat her, and she continues to remain positive, determined to honour her mother’s dying words and to “have courage and be kind.”
When Ella meets a dashing stranger in the woods, unaware that he is really the Prince (Richard Madden) and not merely Kit, an apprentice at the palace, she believes she has finally found a kindred soul. It appears her fortunes may be about to change when the King (Derek Jacobi) summons all maidens in the kingdom to attend a royal ball at the palace, raising Ella’s hopes of once again encountering the charming Kit. Alas, her Stepmother forbids her to attend and callously destroys her dress.
Meanwhile, the calculating Grand Duke (Stellan SkarsgÃ¥rd) devises a plan to thwart the Prince’s hopes of reuniting with Ella and enlists the support of the devious Stepmother. But, as in all good fairy tales, help is at hand. Soon, a kindly beggar woman (Helena Bonham Carter) steps forward and, armed with a pumpkin, a few mice and a magic wand, changes Cinderella’s life forever.

The Frozen Characters Return In A Short Film - Frozen Fever

In “Frozen Fever,” it's Anna's birthday and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but when Elsa catches a cold, her powers may put more than just the party at risk. The highly-anticipated follow-up short to the global phenomenon FROZEN can be seen exclusively in theatres with Disney’s new live-action CINDERELLA.

With those two Disney films together in one screening it calls for a celebration! A #CinderellaMoment if you will
