University Downs is having a "PARTY IN THE PARK" on Auburn Dr Waterloo. Saturday June 6 1-4pmThere are games,bouncing castle, pizza for sale, silent auction, used book and magazine, cd/dvd sales. Storytelling.Between 9am-2pm there is the building of the new playground.The proceeds that are made that day will go toward the cost of that playground and any future extention of the UNIVERSITY DOWNS PARK

Kitchener fire department open house makes fire safety funKITCHENER - Bring the kids out for some free family fun at the Kitchener Fire Department headquarters at 270 Strasburg Road, on Sunday, June 7, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.Every year, dozens of children nine years and younger die in fires at home. Teach your child that fire is a tool, not a toy, and educate yourself and your children for a fire-safe future.The open house features:- A fire safety house- Firefighter maze- Tours of the fire station- Junior firefighter obstacle course- Jumping house, facepainting, games- Charity barbecue- Safety displays- Kid's Club workshop- Free home fire extinguisher checks- Fire rescue demonstrations- Live fire demonstrationsLive entertainment will also be provided by Doug Hunt, Erick Traplin and Richard Knechtel (also known as Dickie Bird).
