Looking for new things to do with your child? Do you think your child would enjoy participating in science? If your child is between the ages of 3-7, they are eligible to sign-up for an online study with researchers at the University of Waterloo. Participation is free and the studies are quite fun for children! Children get a certificate at the end and a chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card. A typical session involves a 25-minute Zoom video call with their researchers. Dash and Splash 2021 will be on Sunday September 12th, 2021 at Kiwanis Park - Splash Pad from 10:00am - 2:00pm. Neighbours Day

This Neighbours Day, we’re encouraging residents across our city to join us for a neighbourhood porch party! On Sept. 18, over 20 local musicians will lend their unique talents by staging small, intimate pop-up concerts in neighbourhoods all over Kitchener. From porches to driveways, front lawns to boulevards, you’re invited to join in the fun by bringing your mask and your lawn chair to enjoy some live entertainment in celebration of Neighbours Day 2021. Due to current provincial gathering limits, we can’t tell you where or when the performances will happen, but if you’re out exploring your neighbourhood on Saturday you may find a local artist performing near you!

Research Studies @ UofW Contact Lens Research
Currently the top contact lens research centre in the world is continuing to accomplish great things through research done right here at UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO. The studies are non-invasive and all of our participants are compensated at $20/hr for their time and often get free contact lenses or glasses. Right they are recruiting 7-11 year olds to participate in a 3yr study cclr.uwaterloo.ca

Infant Studies Group

If you’re looking for something new and fun to do with your child, we would love to have you participate in one of our studies! Help us discover how children learn about language and the world around them. Typical studies involve a one time, half hour visit. Youth Drum and Bugle Corps

Great program for youths in the KWC area. Our participants come not only from Cambridge, but Waterloo, Kitchener, Brantford, and surrounding areas as well. We are not the Scouts. We are not the Army, Navy or Sea Cadets. We are a the only Youth Drum and Bugle Corps in the area!
No experience required and we have a modest membership fee ($20 per year). We provide a unique musical education program that not only teaches kids to play music or perform colour guard, we instruct them how to march, perform and basically just have fun! Movies Under The Stars @ Shades Mill Cambridge (beginning June 10)

Come watch movies under the stars starting at dusk every Friday night beginning June 10 and continuing until mid- September in the new outdoor amphitheatre at Shade’s Mills Park on Avenue Road in Cambridge. Please note that movies are sometimes cancelled due to poor weather.

LINK Picnic Festival and Parade

Saturday will host an evening concert only of music, dance, fashion and food starng at 4pm until 9pm. Sunday will begin at noon and go to 7pm with full programming.

The eleventh African and Caribbean festival features the drum, the steelpan and an array of the
musical diaspora through three areas of music. Along with traditonal foods, cultural fashions

Kitchener Rangers Fan Fest BBQ
The Kitchener Rangers will host their annual Fan Fest and Barbecue in support of the Children’s Wish Foundation on Sunday, September 4th, 2016 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at The Aud.
Fans have the opportunity to meet the Rangers players, enjoy a BBQ lunch and take part in a number of activities including inflatable games and rides!
The Sun Life Financial Kids In Gear program will be on hand to collect equipment. Fans are encouraged to bring new or gently used hockey equipment to donate to those members of our community that would very much appreciate the gesture!
Following the BBQ, the Rangers will host their first exhibition game of the year.

Our yearly community Hilltop Festival is one of our events you don't want to miss.  Featuring a free bbq, live entertainment, pony rides, bouncy castle and other inflatables, the Nimblebus, door prizes and more, you'll want to invite kids and adults of all ages to this fun, free afternoon of activities running from 12 noon to 4 pm (rain or shine).

KITCHENER Ringette Association is happy to be hosting a Come Try Ringette Event.
This is a free event for all children 4 years and older.  All you will need to bring is a helmet, skates, protective gloves or winter gloves(these are ok too).  We will have ringette sticks on hand to borrow for the event.  Snacks will be provided to children after the event.
We will have ice helpers on hand yo assist new skaters, as well as kitchener ringette members available to answer any questions you may have about ringette or our play for free promotion.
