RecycleDrive Program Enters It's Fourth Year

CAA South Central Ontario and Ontario Tire Stewardship have partnered up to once again bring the RecycleDrive program to Ontario communities. It is a fantastic campaign that helps you recycle more than just tires! This program allows you recycle accepted items for FREE and gives you a chance to help beautify you community!

What Will The RecycleDrive Program Accept?

  1. Tires (without rims)
  2. Motor Oil
  3. Oil Filters
  4. Batteries
and when we say batteries we mean ALL KINDS OF BATTERIES!
  • Household Batteries
  • Automobile Batteries
  • Marine Batteries
Chances are you have at least one of these items kicking around your house, garage and/or shed.

What Does The RecycleDrive Program Do For My Community?

Not only are you diverting these environmentally harmful products from landfills, the RecycleDrive program includes a Community Campaign! As listed on the campaign website

The AARS location that collects the most tires will designate a local school to receive $20,000 worth of greenery and products made from recycled tires to beautify the community school building, grounds or play space of their choice

Always looking to make our planet better for the next generation is so important. Listen to this great song by artist Jack Johnson about THE 3 Rs

I am sure that will inspire you to do what you can, but to give you an extra incentive, we wanted to let you know that the first 50 people who visit a participating AARS location with their recyclables will receive a FREE pack of yard waste bags!

When and Where Do I Drop Off My Items For The RecycleDrive Program?

Beginning Tuesday October 14th and running until October 30, 2014 is the time period for the RecycleDrive program. Locally in the Kitchener Waterloo area the AARS location for the items to be dropped off at is

Precision Kaster Auto
466 Phillip St.
Waterloo, ON N2L 5J2
519-725-4951

If you are outside of the area you can view other participating Ontario locations here

Keep in mind that the first 50 people who visit a participating AARS location with their recyclables will receive a FREE pack of yard waste bags, so you'll want to be quick to get in on the freebie!

What Else Can I Do To Help?

Remember that the community that collects the most tires will receive the beautification prize so be sure to SHARE this post! Use the hashtag #RecycleDrive and tweet to @CAASCO and RethinkTires to let them know you have participated!

*NOTE  According to CAA, Canada has one of the highest ratios of car ownership in the world. It is close to one vehicle for every two people. That is why the CAA Autogreen program was created. It helps everyone make simple eco-driving choices! Since CAA Autogreen begain the RecycleDrive program, it has collected 472 automotive and marine batteries, over 7,000 tires, 3,400 pounds of household batteries, and almost 8,000 litres of oil!

Toronto Argonauts Home Opener

We'll start with the Disclaimer - Yes this is a sponsored post, but this just means we're able to offer you ways to save money on tickets to upcoming Argos games and other events!

How CAA Made Our Day

We had the opportunity to attend the Toronto Argonauts Home Opener compliments of CAA South Central Ontario and boy did we have a great time! There was a crowd of 17,758 for the first home game of the season and we were glad to be at Rogers Centre to experience it.

Our Argos Experience

Once retreiving our tickets we spent some time outside the Rogers Center visiting the Tailgate party where we played some triva and then headed to the other side of the dome to listen to the Argonotes Band.

Once inside the stadium we found our seats for this open dome football game!

There is a lot of fan involvement at an Argo game. They even ask for fans to take an #ArgosSelfie

It was a very exciting game,  but the play that brought everyone to their feet can be found at the
3:50 mark of this video

How exciting was that?
As exciting as it was on the video, it was a gazillion times more exciting being there and watching it live! Nothing compares to be in the stands when something like that happens!
Want to know a secret to getting yourself to the next home game? We have the answer!
