When we were first introduced to the story of Maleficent in
2014 it showed how she transformed from the young fairy that protected the
beauty of the Moors into a vengeful sorcerer and then became a combination of
the two. By the end of the tale you
realized that Maleficent was the anti-hero we all needed.
This month the Disney’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil Blu-ray
Combo arrives, and you must see how the fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty is
transformed once again. This time Aurora
and Phillip are on the cusp of their own life-changing events with disapproval
from both Phillip’s mother and Aurora’s godmother Maleficent. In an effort to appease
Aurora, Maleficent begins to change her true self, starting with covering her
horns. This is only the start of a
series of events that changes every one of the characters in this film and drives
home the fact that your true colours will come out no matter how hard you try
to hide them.
When an unexpected encounter introduces a powerful new alliance, Maleficent and Aurora are pulled apart to opposing sides in a Great War, testing their loyalties and causing them to question whether they can truly be family. “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” stars Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sam Riley, Harris Dickinson, Ed Skrein, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, Lesley Manville and Michelle Pfeiffer as Queen Ingrith, and is directed by Joachim Rønning. With a story by Linda Woolverton and a screenplay by Linda Woolverton and Noah Harpster & Micah Fitzerman-Blue, the film is produced by Joe Roth, Angelina Jolie and Duncan Henderson with Matt Smith, Jeff Kirschenbaum and Mike Vieira serving as executive producers
