MINIONS & MONSTERS is a Timely Adventure

If you’ve been here for a while, you know: I’m a huge fan of the Despicable Me Universe and I love the Minions!

So when I heard about MINIONS & MONSTERS coming to Digital and  4K UHD, Blu-ray™ and DVD I wanted to make sure you see it!

The Minions Mission

One of my favourite things about the Minions lore is that they’re always searching for A Big Boss. It’s basically their life mission. In MINIONS & MONSTERS, that search takes them all the way back to ancient eras and it evolves through time. Their journey leads eventually leads them all the way to the dawn of motion pictures, which feels exactly like the kind of timeline‑hopping adventure only Minions could pull off.

Along the way, they run into lots of mean Big Bosses, an Alien looking to conquer the world and of course Monsters.

Underneath all the silliness is a surprisingly sweet story about one Minion named James, who loves to tell stories. His pals Henry & Ed are right there beside him, cheering him on, getting into trouble, and being exactly the kind of supportive chaos‑crew we expect from the Minions.

It’s funny, it’s messy, it’s heartfelt and it fits perfectly into the Despicable Me world I love so much.

I’m always excited when there’s something new in the Despicable Me Universe, but MINIONS & MONSTERS feels extra special. It’s playful, it’s weird in the best way, and it has that big Minion heart that keeps me coming back every time.

Welcome to the Renaissance of Something Rotten! at Stratford Festival

 

Two years ago, Something Rotten! burst onto the Stratford Festival stage with so much energy, wit, and musical mayhem that we couldn’t stop talking about it. In fact we talked about it so much that many of our readers made it their MUST SEE SHOW and they let us know they loved it too! It became one of our favourite Stratford experiences. It's the kind of show you leave thinking, I wish I could see that again.

So we did.

And guess what? The Stratford Festival production of Something Rotten! is back for the 2026 Season. If you loved it the first time (like we did), you’ll be thrilled to know this season you will still get to enjoy the fast paced song and dance routines, musical themed jokes and Shakespearean wink with full Renaissance flair.
