Looking for new things to do with your child? Do you think your child would enjoy participating in science? If your child is between the ages of 3-7, they are eligible to sign-up for an online study with researchers at the University of Waterloo. Participation is free and the studies are quite fun for children! Children get a certificate at the end and a chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card. A typical session involves a 25-minute Zoom video call with their researchers. Registration is OPEN for the Kitchener Market Mother’s Day Kit (Cost of $5)

Join the Kitchener Market for a special celebration of Mother's Day in the comfort of your own home! Each activity kit contains everything you need to make a special gift for mom using an Artshine craft, as well as some extra goodies that will make mom feel pampered and relaxed. Kits will also include ingredients for following along with a Mother's Day cooking video that will premiere at 10AM on May 9th. Make your mom a yummy treat to show her how special she is! 

Kits are available for pickup during two time slots. Please pick up kits on Friday, May 7th from 4 to 6 p.m. at the curbside pickup location off of Eby Street, or on Saturday, May 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Localline Area on the upper level. *Participants will need to provide certain kitchen staples of their own for the cooking recipe, a supply list will be sent via email prior to the event.

Currently the top contact lens research centre in the world is continuing to accomplish great things through research done right here at UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO. The studies are non-invasive and all of our participants are compensated at $20/hr for their time and often get free contact lenses or glasses. Right they are recruiting 7-11 year olds to participate in a 3yr study cclr.uwaterloo.ca

Infant Studies Group

If you’re looking for something new and fun to do with your child, we would love to have you participate in one of our studies! Help us discover how children learn about language and the world around them. Typical studies involve a one time, half hour visit. Social Development Lab
Our lab is currently looking for children to help with our research! Our lab looks at personality and the social world for young children. Our study involves parents and their children coming into our lab and answering a few questions. Kids get to play some fun computer games as well! The typical sessions take around 2 hours and parents are always able to observe their child during the social interaction tasks. In appreciation of your time, children get a small gift. Youth Drum and Bugle Corps

Great program for youths in the KWC area. Our participants come not only from Cambridge, but Waterloo, Kitchener, Brantford, and surrounding areas as well. We are not the Scouts. We are not the Army, Navy or Sea Cadets. We are the only Youth Drum and Bugle Corps in the area!

No experience required and we have a modest membership fee ($20 per year). We provide a unique musical education program that not only teaches kids to play music or perform colour guard, we instruct them how to march, perform and basically just have fun! Spring Fireworks @ Grand River Raceway In Elora

Lighting up the sky is the just the finale to the Spring Fireworks Night that promises hours of entertainment and family fun.   The Elora Lions have been presenting a fireworks event since the beginning of time (maybe a few years less?).  This favoured tradition has changed and grown from year to year and is now generously hosted by the Grand River Raceway in Elora.  With an exceptional location at the Raceway, the Lions work with other groups in the community to create a night full of variety, kids’ activities and, of course, a dazzling fireworks display.
This year we have rented TWO Bouncy Castles for young children and will have music on hand for entertainment.
The Spring Fireworks always takes place on the Saturday following the Victoria Day weekend in May. Admission this year is $5 per person. Family rate is $20.
