Moms’ Day Out – Mindfulness Workshop Day Retreat @ KPL

We'll start with the Disclaimer - Yes, we did receive complimentary tickets, but this just means we're able to make you aware of this amazing event happening locally!

After the back to school rush, and before the Christmas Season prep begins we think it is a great time to stop, take a breath and learn to be more MINDFUL.
According to Wikipedia, Mindfulness is a process of bringing one's attention to experiences occurring in the present moment

Becoming more mindful can change the way people think and react to situations.  To learn more about this practice we are attending a Mindfulness Workshop Day Retreat for Women.
It takes place on Saturday October 27, 2018 from 9:30am-4pm at the Kitchener Public Library Central Branch, 85 Queen St. N. Kitchener. It will be held in Room A, which is downstairs at the Downtown KPL branch.

The cost to attend the day long event is $90 which may be covered by some health benefits programs.  This event includes mindfulness training, meditation and lunch!

She is currently studying under the tutelage of world-renowned teachers, Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield, in their 2-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training Program. She has been practicing Mindfulness Meditation for 15 years and has been integrating the practices and teachings of awareness and compassion in her clinical work for over a decade.

Kitchener - Calling all ghosts, goblins, witches…and future heroes! Kitchener Fire is encouraging you to add one more stop to your adventures this Halloween by visiting one of the city’s seven fire stations from 5 – 8 p.m.

Kids in costume are welcome to trick or treat at a fire station where they will take home a treat from local firefighters, who will also share tips and information about how to keep your little monsters safe.

There will also be some opportunities for photos with firefighters and trucks, so bring your cameras and phones. If you’re posting pictures to social media that night, don’t forget to tag @CityKitchener and use the hashtag #KitchenerFire #Halloween.
Can’t make it out? We’d still love to see your costumes (especially all of the cool little local firefighters!), so you can still tag us or send photos to fire@kitchener.ca.

Join us on October 31, 2018 from 5 – 8 p.m.
