Lone Star Texas Grill Cambridge Contest

Get Your Fajitas On!

We'll start with the Disclaimer - Yes we did receive a complimentary meal, but this just means we're able to offer you a chance at a FREE MEAL TOO!  Enter the contest at the end of this post!

As you know we're always looking for great places close to Kitchener Waterloo.  I was excited to learn that Lone Star Texas Grill had opened a location in Cambridge Ontario.  I dined at a Lone Star in Toronto many years ago and loved it!  I was thrilled to learn that there was one so close to me, that I contacted them!

You see Fajitas are a great meal for group and Lone Star Texas Grill has a great friendly atmosphere so it's WIN WIN whether you're out with friends or taking the family out for a meal.

Lone Star Texas Grill was new to Diane, so we ventured to Cambridge last night for our dinner

We arrived at 4:30pm, which was perfect timing (by 5:30pm the place was jumping and the line up for tables had started).  We were able to request a booth which was very comfortable and had a large table to hold the amount of food about to arrive.

Our server was very friendly and brought us Chips and Salsa right away!  Wait let me rephrase that.  She brought WARM chips and salsa!

I knew right away what we were going to order .....

We chose the Texas size for the table and take a look what came!

Plus all of this came along with it.

All these "fixin's" are unlimited and more came to the table as requested along with more chips and salsa and more grilled peppers as per our request.  Later a host came by to make sure everything was to our liking.

We felt so spoiled. OH I DIDN'T MENTION THIS YET BUT IT WAS DELICIOUS!!!!!

We'll definitely be back again! They are conveniently located in the Cambridge Smart Centre (near Old Navy) just off Highway 24 close to the Pinebush Rd end of that shopping district.  To find more info about Lone Star Texas Grill Cambridge make sure to head over to their Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/LoneStarTexasGrillCambridge...

... and make sure to enter our contest for a complimentary Fajitas Meal below (might take a minute to load the rafflecopter contest form). One of the bonus point questions is "What is your favorite fajita topping?"

Best Places To Toboggan In Kitchener Waterloo

Where Can You Go Tobogganing in Kitchener Waterloo?

WE REALLY DON'T KNOW WHICH TOBOGGAN HILLS WILL BE OPEN, BUT ALWAYS CHECK YOUR LOCAL BY-LAWS.
------------------

Back in the day, there was an abundance of snow and lots of fields in the Kitchener Waterloo area which meant lots of places to toboggan.  Now with our shortened winters and lots of new neighbourhood developments, it seems a little harder to know exactly where those sled hills are.

The first one everyone thinks of is McLennan Park in Kitchener aka Mount Trashmore for those who have lived in Kitchener before its revamping. Here's a video of my former co-workers tobogganing at McLennan Park back in 2010

I remember when I was young spending a lot of time going down the hill at Gzowski Park in Kitchener although I recall that park has changed over the years as well with the addition of the Victoria Hills Community Centre.  Near by there is my Elementary School A.R. Kaufman that had a hill by the soccer field.

If you're willing to spend some cash for a day of downhill tobogganing, there's Chicopee Tube Park, where unlike Miley Cyrus it's NOT about the climb. Always check their website for the their opening date.

In Waterloo, Columbia Lake field by the soccer pitch is a great spot!

I know there have to be more great places to toboggan in the Kitchener Waterloo area, so I "group-sourced" from our Stuff To Do Facebook Group for some additional places to go tobogganing.

Diane M. mentioned  Mackenzie King School
Melissa Y added Rockway Public School
Alicia L said Howard Roberston School
Valerie T messaged Dickson Park Cambridge
Robin H and Kellie C said Medowlane School
Patrick M tweeted Waterloo Park Near Pavillions/Father David Bauer Entrance
Jaymis G posted Westvale Park and Lakeside Park
Deidre Llet us know about Bechtel Park
April R suggested Grand Valley Golf Course in Doon
Krystna T said  Cambridge - Churchill Park and Elgin Street at Munch behind the school
Barry V mentioned Stanely Park Community Centre

Let's grow this list! I'm sure there are plenty of other places to bust out your GT Snowracer, Flying Saucer, Crazy Carpet, Wood Toboggan, or other sleds.  Leave your favorite Region Of Waterloo toboggan hill in the comments to keep this list growing!

Justin Bieber, AJ Bridel and the Next Generation of Talent from the Kitchener Waterloo Area

The Young Talent That Stems From Kitchener Waterloo Is #kwAWESOME

If you tuned into the American Music Awards the other day, you would have heard Justin Bieber singing an acoustic version of his hit As Long As You Love Me.  I think he managed to prove that world that he's more than a flash in the pan.

Like his style or not, you have to root for the local kid. I'm all about a supportive community.  Speaking of which here are few other local talents that are sure to make a splash on the music scene.

Here's a new young talent from Kitchener Waterloo, take a listen to Conor singing Michael Jackson's ABC

and for those who like more of an acoustic sound make sure to check out Scotty James.  Born and raised in KW his video now has 101,122 views on YouTube.  Take a listen and I'm sure you'll recognize this tune.

If you happened to stop by our Movember Kids KW event you would have saw a familiar sight for those who watched Over The Rainbow.  Our special guest was AJ Bridel fresh from her appearance on CBC.
Just head to YouTube and search AJ Bridel and you will find so many wonderful performances by her (just like the one below)

There are lots of ways to see local talent beyond watching it on YouTube.  This weekend Eastwood Collegiate is having their fundraising gala and here's some BIG NEWS.....
***AJ BRIDEL will be performing***

Happening tonight (Nov 23, 2012) at 7pm and tomorrow (Nov 24, 2012) at 1pm and 7pm
Tickets are $12 each and there is a family rate of $40 for the SATURDAY MATINEE. Tickets go on sale an hour before each performance.

Want to support young talent in other ways?  Why not check out KW Glee? Tickets are on sale now for their next performance.
You can find additional info here http://www.renaissanceschoolofthearts.com/kw-glee/
