#PrayForLydia Fundraiser July 26 2012 @DQLaurelwood
Fundraiser for the Herrle Family
If you are anywhere near Kitchener-Waterloo Ontario chances are you have read/heard about the accident that took place just outside of Herrles Market. In May of this year Lydia Herrle was struck by a truck as she was getting off her school bus. More info about what happened can be read here. Being a beloved family business in the area, residents of the Region of Waterloo gathered quickly to show the Herrle Family their support. The hastag #PrayForLydia spread quickly through the twitter and has people worldwide praying for Lydia's recovery.
Green ribbons are wrapped around trees, tied to light posts and hung from front porches to send the message to remember to #PrayForLydia
The community we live in continues to find ways to show the Herrle Family just how much they mean to this area, buy finding ways to help the family.
Last month a wrote a post about a month long fundraiser happening for all of July 2012 where visitors to the Dairy Queen in Laurelwood could buy paper ribbons for $1 with all the proceeds going to the Herrle Family to help with the ongoing care that Lydia will require.
Rob Maxwell the owner of @DQLaurelwood spoke about the fundraiser at the 9:55 min. mark of this video. Since then hundreds of dollars have been raised, but Rob didn't stop there.
Miracle For Lydia Day
On July 26th Rob is having a Miracle For Lydia Day at the Laurelwood Dairy Queen. The event is family friendly and will jam packed with things to do.- Meet Ben Fanelli from The Kitchener Rangers!
- Get your Face Painted by Bre Creative!
- There will be a banana split eating contest featuring local celebrities & more!
Please make sure you can stop in and show your support. Additional information can be found on THE RECORD website, the Stuff To Do facebook support page & event fundraiser page.
Please pass the poster along as well. A larger version of the poster created by Cutegecko can be found by clicking here.
We want to see all of the #kwawesome area residents out to the event on July 26th!

#PrayForLydia Fundraiser @DQLaurelwood
Many in the Kitchener Waterloo area want to do something to support the Lydia Herrle and her loving Family. #PrayForLydia has brought several people together, not only in our community but from other areas as well (in fact people around the world are praying for her recovery). Many check the family blog daily to hear how Lydia is progressing, but still people want to do more.
Rob from Dairy Queen Laurelwood in Waterloo is doing just that. Starting Canada Day & continuing all month you can buy a PAPER RIBBON FOR LYDIA for $1 and the funds will be donated to Lydia Herrle's family.
A HUGE thank-you goes to Trevor Cherewka of TikTokMedia #BRANTastic for creating the paper ribbons.
Like I said the word about Lydia has spread beyond the KW area. More & more people are getting involved everyday.
To find out more about the event.
In the meantime please stop by Dairy Queen in the Laurelwood Commons and purchase a Paper Ribbon for $1

#PrayForLydia Kitchener Market Hockeyfest Contest and more Things To Do in Kitchener Waterloo
#PrayForLydia
As many of you know I often talk about what a wonderful gem Herrles Market is in our community. When young Lydia Herrle was involved in the Erb Rd accident last week and rushed to Sick Kids hospital, a community came together to support the Herrle Family. For updates from the family you can follow their twitter feed https://twitter.com/#!/herrlesmarket
I've also set up a page with updates on facebook https://www.facebook.com/events/297535526999626. For those not fully aware of why there are Lime Green Ribbons all over Waterloo Region, I've posted a lot of info here http://1gooddeed.tumblr.com/post/23383903670/prayforlydia-we-hope-you-will-continue-to-keep
Please continue to keep Lydia Herrle in your thoughts and prayers.
