One of my favourite Disney films was the first installment
of CARS.It was an exciting movie and
had such a great story line.Seeing how
Lightning McQueen learned classic racing techniques from Doc Hudson was a
turning point in that film. Many don’t
realize that Doc Hudson was voiced by the late great Paul Newman. It was one of his last movie roles before he
passed away in 2008.Eleven years after
the first CARS film, the third movie highlights much of Doc’s wisdom and positive
influence that he bestowed upon McQueen. So much so that Lightning McQueen
takes on more mentors and motivators after he has difficulty finding his way back
to the racetrack.
Each one of these new coaches change roles throughout the
movie as well. Some become coaches for a
new team and some even become part of the team.Even McQueen finds himself in some role reversal situations.
With echoes of the first Cars film,
you will be brought back to Lightning McQueen’s arrival at his now home in
Radiator Springs.Don’t worry if you have
watched the previous films or not, CARS 3 holds its own in this trilogy making it
a film your whole family will enjoy.

Reunited and it Feels So Good
Earlier this month we had the opportunity to attend and
advance screening to Disney Pixar’s COCO.We had to wait until the opening weekend to tell you all about it, and
now that it’s here we want to ensure you know how much we enjoyed this movie.
This adventure takes Miguel to the “Land of Your Ancestors” to
discover his family’s legendary musical past.
COCO: Despite his family’s baffling
generations-old ban on music, Miguel (voice of newcomer Anthony Gonzalez)
dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz
(voice of Benjamin Bratt). Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds
himself in the stunning and colourful Land of the Dead following a mysterious
chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector (voice
of Gael García Bernal), and together, they set off on an extraordinary
journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel's family history. Directed by
Lee Unkrich (“Toy Story 3”), co-directed by Adrian Molina (story artist
“Monsters University”) and produced by Darla K. Anderson (“Toy Story 3”),
Disney•Pixar’s “Coco” opens in theatres on Nov. 22, 2017.
We loved this movie. The way the “Land
of Your Ancestors” had such a different look than the scenes taking place in
the present was just one of the fantastic highlights. There were lots of comedic
moments, transformations throughout the film and beautiful music that had you
swaying in your seat.
This film will have you looking forward to your next family gathering.
With the holiday season upon us, COCO will have you looking forward to creating
memories with your family and perhaps it will even have you planning a family
reunion or Day of the Dead celebration!
We'll start with the Disclaimer – Yes, we did receive
complimentary tickets, but this just means we're able to offer you a chance to
attend the advance screening too! Enter the contest at the end of this post!
Happy Halloween

Last week Walt Disney Studios Canada invited us to their advance screening of Finding Dory. It was an enjoyable experience from start to finish! It began with the Pixar short film Piper which set the tone for the evening. Piper is about how giving a child some independence can be scary but in the long run make them a problem solver. This is also the theme in Finding Dory. You learn how Dory became a quick thinker despite he short term memory issues. It also gives a look at how Dory's core values were instilled in her at a very young age and how they help her through her journeys. You even learn where her tagline "Just Keep Swimming" came from. It was a wonderful film filled with laughs, a few tears and many cute moments.
With a great mix of new and returning characters you are sure to love
Finding Dory as much as you loved it's predecessor Finding Nemo. We
think your whole family, or "school of fish" will enjoy Finding Dory and
it will be a great way to kick off summer!
Voice Cast: Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, Ed O’Neill, Kaitlin Olson, Ty Burrell, Eugene
Levy, Diane Keaton
Director: Andrew Stanton
Co-Director: Angus MacLane
Producer: Lindsey Collins
Disney•Pixar's “Finding
Dory” reunites everyone’s favourite forgetful blue tang, Dory, with her
friends Nemo and Marlin on a search for answers about her past.
What can she remember? Who are her parents? And where did she learn to
speak Whale?
Directed by Andrew Stanton (“Finding Nemo,” “WALL•E”) and produced by
Lindsey Collins (co-producer “WALL•E”), the film features the voices of
Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, Ed O'Neill, Kaitlin Olson, Ty Burrell,
Eugene Levy and Diane Keaton. “Finding Dory”
swims into theatres June 17, 2016.

We love how vibrant this image is and thought your family would like to see it in advance of the movie arriving this summer!

The Classic Tale Of Cinderella Becomes A Live Action Film
The story of “Cinderella” follows the fortunes of young Ella (Lily James) whose merchant father remarries following the death of her mother. Eager to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new Stepmother (Cate Blanchett) and her daughters Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drisella (Sophie McShera) into the family home. But, when Ella’s father unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family.
Soon, she is forced to become their servant, disrespected, covered in ashes and spitefully renamed Cinderella. Yet, despite the cruelty inflicted upon her, Ella will not give in to despair nor despise those who mistreat her, and she continues to remain positive, determined to honour her mother’s dying words and to “have courage and be kind.”
When Ella meets a dashing stranger in the woods, unaware that he is really the Prince (Richard Madden) and not merely Kit, an apprentice at the palace, she believes she has finally found a kindred soul. It appears her fortunes may be about to change when the King (Derek Jacobi) summons all maidens in the kingdom to attend a royal ball at the palace, raising Ella’s hopes of once again encountering the charming Kit. Alas, her Stepmother forbids her to attend and callously destroys her dress.
Meanwhile, the calculating Grand Duke (Stellan Skarsgård) devises a plan to thwart the Prince’s hopes of reuniting with Ella and enlists the support of the devious Stepmother. But, as in all good fairy tales, help is at hand. Soon, a kindly beggar woman (Helena Bonham Carter) steps forward and, armed with a pumpkin, a few mice and a magic wand, changes Cinderella’s life forever.
The Frozen Characters Return In A Short Film - Frozen Fever
In “Frozen Fever,” it's Anna's birthday and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but when Elsa catches a cold, her powers may put more than just the party at risk. The highly-anticipated follow-up short to the global phenomenon FROZEN can be seen exclusively in theatres with Disney’s new live-action CINDERELLA.
With those two Disney films together in one screening it calls for a celebration! A #CinderellaMoment if you will
As you know we celebrate our #CinderellaMoment every time we put on our tiaras!
Now we want to know your #CinderellaMoment and it may just win you tickets to the CINDERELLA ADVANCED SCREENING 7pm ON MARCH 11th @ Galaxy Cinemas Conestoga Mall In Waterloo

As many of you know I often talk about what a wonderful gem Herrles Market is in our community. When young Lydia Herrle was involved in the Erb Rd accident last week and rushed to Sick Kids hospital, a community came together to support the Herrle Family.
For updates from the family you can follow their twitter feed https://twitter.com/#!/herrlesmarket
I've also set up a page with updates on facebook https://www.facebook.com/events/297535526999626. For those not fully aware of why there are Lime Green Ribbons all over Waterloo Region, I've posted a lot of info here http://1gooddeed.tumblr.com/post/23383903670/prayforlydia-we-hope-you-will-continue-to-keep

I had only saw it on VCR before that, so seeing it on the Big Screen in 3D was amazing! The opening sequence where the story is told of how the Prince came to be the Beast was done so beautifully you felt like you were in a story book. If you're able to see it in the theatre you get an exta treat from Disney Pixar. Tangled Ever After is a new Disney Short film, also show in 3D and the effects are amazing! Here's a sneak peak
