Make Sure You Make Your Way To Million Dollar Quartet @ Drayton Entertainment’s Dunfield Theatre

We had the opportunity to attend a performance of Drayton Entertainment’s Million Dollar Quartet at the Dunfield Theatre in Cambridge and to our delight many of Rock and Roll’s greatest artists were brought to life!

The very first time show we attended at the Dunfield Theatre was The Buddy Holly Story and much like that musical, this nostalgic production was both a lesson in history and music influence.  This show was set inside the recording studio at Sun Records with their four famous recording artists Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and “The King” Elvis Presley. Together these four iconic musicians create unforgettable collaborations while reminiscing about the events of that year.

Inspired by the legendary 1956 recording session, which brought together then-rising star Johnny Cash, unknown Jerry Lee Lewis, veteran musician Carl Perkins, and chart-topper Elvis Presley at Sun Records for the first – and only – time.

If you want to enjoy these classic songs and see how this story unfolds, be sure to get your tickets for Million Dollar Quartet. It is only at The Dunfield Theatre for a limited time and you will want to be the seats to see these tribute artists perform right before your eyes!

Tickets
Tickets are $46 for Adults and $27 for Youth under 20 years of age. Tickets for groups of 20 or more and select Discount Dates are $37. HST is applicable to all ticket prices. Tickets may be purchased online at www.draytonentertainment.com
in person at the Box Office, or by calling 519-621-8000 or toll free 1-855-DRAYTON (372-9866).

Celebrate Earth Week with Disneynature’s BORN IN CHINA – Enter To Win Passes To The Toronto Advance Screening

We'll start with the Disclaimer – Yes, we did receive complimentary tickets as a giveaway to the advance screening! Enter the contest at the end of this post!

Spring is finally in the air and April means it’s time to think about Earth Day and Earth Week.  These annual events get people thinking about the environment and ways to be earth-friendly.  This year Disneynature is releasing BORN IN CHINA on Earth Day and if you go to see it the first week of its release you will be helping to protect Pandas and Snow Leopards.

BORN IN CHINA: Narrated by John Krasinski (“13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi,” “The Office,” “Amazon’s “Jack Ryan”), Disneynature's new True Life Adventure film “Born In China” takes an epic journey into the wilds of China where few people have ever ventured. Following the stories of three animal families, the film transports audiences to some of the most extreme environments on Earth to witness some of the most intimate moments ever captured in a nature film. A doting panda bear mother guides her growing baby as she begins to explore and seek independence. A two-year-old golden monkey who feels displaced by his new baby sister joins up with a group of free-spirited outcasts. And a mother snow leopard—an elusive animal rarely caught on camera—faces the very real drama of raising her two cubs in one of the harshest and most unforgiving environments on the planet. Featuring stunning, never-before-seen imagery, the film navigates China’s vast terrain—from the frigid mountains to the heart of the bamboo forest—on the wings of red-crowned cranes, seamlessly tying the extraordinary tales together. Opening in theatres on April 21, 2017, “Born in China” is directed by accomplished Chinese filmmaker Lu Chuan, and produced by Disney’s Roy Conli and renowned nature filmmakers Brian Leith and Phil Chapman.

We think this film will be a great introduction into the wonders of wildlife around the world and we are very excited to bring you a contest for a chance to win passes to the advance screening of this movie in Toronto Ontario on April 19, 2017

Skip The Dishes Promo Code + Contest

We'll start with the Disclaimer – Yes, we did receive complimentary meals, but this just means we're able to offer you a chance to win a dinner too! Enter the contest at the end of this post!

Kitchener Waterloo Get Ready To Skip The Dishes!

As many of you know both Diane and I work full time, but provide media coverage for events most evenings and weekends.  This doesn’t leave a lot of time for cooking dinner in between. Last week before heading to the Alan Doyle concert we tried out SKIP THE DISHES to save us both time and energy. Skip The Dishes is an online restaurant/food establishment platform that arranges pickup or delivery of your requested meal.  They have over 20 locations in Canada and the service is now available in Kitchener Waterloo.  After we placed our order for delivery, we received a meal in about 30 minutes and had minimal clean up after. It was quick and convenient and a great option for busy families.  You can place an order to pick up on your way home, or if you are already at your house you can have your meal delivered to your home.

*Please note, delivery times and delivery charges vary depending on the restaurant you choose and the day of the week it is being ordered.  Expect longer wait times on weekends.

The Steps To Save On Your Skip The Dishes Order

Skip The Dishes is offering 10% off your order with the promo code THOSE2GIRLS. Below are simple steps to place an order (using a computer, if using a phone most options take up the full screen)

1.      Head to the Skip The Dishes Website https://www.skipthedishes.com

2.      In the top right corner click LOG IN (to make it easy I used the facebook login)

3.      In the middle of the page, choose either delivery or pickup. Then type in your address. Don’t worry that there is a place for a unit number you can put that in later. You still have to add your address if it is pickup so that you can advance to the next step. It is what lets you know which options are available for your city.

4.      A pop up window with a map will come up. Next click on the red bar that says FIND RESTAURANTS under the map.

5.      A list of local choices will come up for you. In the top right corner, you can also pick a heading to get your listing sorted by delivery times or delivery charges.

6.      Now you can start clicking on the restaurants listed to see what they are offering for Skip The Dishes customers.

7.      Once you have decided on a restaurant, make your meal selections

8.      Before you click the ADD TO ORDER bar, you can select the quantity of meals (IE if you are getting identical dishes) and any instructions you wish the restaurant to have in regards to your food selections.

9.      After your order is complete, in the top right corner of your screen, click CHECKOUT

10.  On this screen you will see a map. If you chose the delivery option, under the map, fill in the fields for your delivery driver IE side door, unit number, buzz code etc. (to ensure that there would not be an issue I also put in the phone number of the place it’s being delivered to)

11.  The next box is where you select the amount to tip your driver (if the order was placed for delivery)

12.  NOW THIS IS WHERE YOU GET TO SAVE 10% in the box that says Have a Voucher? Type in THOSE2GIRLS and your price will be adjusted accordingly.

13.  Then select to proceed to payment.  There you can select the method of payment that works best for you.

14.  After the payment is processed you can watch real time updates of the courier arriving to pick up your order at the establishment and delivering it to you!

Once the order arrives, enjoy it knowing that there’s not a sink full of dishes waiting for you after.
