Earlier this month we were heading to see a Drayton Entertainment production and we doubled up our fun by heading to Pizza Europe first. It made it a little rushed, but it reminded us how hectic getting ready for Back To School can be. We decided this review would help our readers find some some extra time by offering a Family Feast Contest that you can enter at the end of this post.

Grab and Go or Stay and That's Still OK

Pizza Europe is located in the Deeridge Plaza, and for the nostalgic KW residents, formely LULUS ROADHOUSE.  It is tucked in behind a few establishblishments so we thought this photo would help you find the location in the plaza.

Pizza Europe offers take and delivery, or if you are stopping by with a friend they have a lunch counter area as well.  Which ever works best for you is fine by them!  The staff is friendly and accomodating to all their patrons!

    Maximum Menu

As you can see from the image below they offer a lot of choices on their menu.  They also have the option of GLUTEN FREE crust which is prepared offsite by a local organic company.

We had a Caesar Salad for a starter and followed it up with a Panzerotti.  We were so full we took half of our panzerottis to go.  They were so delicious!

    Make It Easy On Yourself

Whether you are returning from Back To School shopping or rushing from school to activities, Pizza Europe offers online ordering! Just visit their online ordering page! There are lots of great deals including a FAMILY FEAST!

Parents' Night Out - Take Off With Boeing Boeing

    The Summer Is Flying By

We're nearing the end of August and the summer is flying by! It was a good thing we were able to soar into Cambridge to attend the Drayton Entertainment Theatres presentation of Boeing Boeing.

Ensure Your Seat Is In The Upright Position

Being that we loved the hilarious Run For Your Wife farce they presented earlier this year...

we were ready for this production to take flight!

Many would think that this performance would resemble the film starring Jerry Lewis and Tony Curtis

but Drayton Entertainment took this show on a whole new course!

Their website describes this show this way
Bernard Lawrence is plain crazy for love! The Parisian is juggling three fiancĂ©es – each a beautiful airline hostess. But with the technologically advanced Boeing aircraft, which makes traveling a lot more convenient for Bernard’s dames, it is getting more difficult to orchestrate his elaborate love life.
When they all converge in his cramped apartment at the same time, along with an old school chum who unwittingly gets involved in the confusion, Bernard’s chaotic love life reaches new heights.
A crash landing seems imminent, so fasten your seatbelts for a hilarious farce – you’re in for a bumpy ride!

As for our take on it we enjoyed the turbulance that provided a lot of chaos during the performance.
While this production has an all star cast the stand out character for us had to be Bertha played by Valerie Boyle.  Her comedic banter with the other characters had the whole theatre buckled over in their seats and set the tone for the entire show.

See Boeing Boeing Before It Takes Off

Looking for a Parents' Night Out or a night out with friends? We suggest seeing this performance before it takes off for another destination!

What If The F Word Showed Up On This Blog

    Keeping It Clean

Being a family friendly blog, the mention of The F Word on this post might have you second guessing this blog. What If I told you it's all okay and more about a great Parents' Night Out?

Last week we found ourselves at the screening of The F Word here in Waterloo Ontario. Now if you are a reader from the USA you would know this film as What If.

    Meaning of The F Word

For the purposes of this film The F Word is referring to "friend" and the movie is about being the "the friend zone" and wondering What If the circumstances could be different. It stars Daniel Radcliffe as Wallace who wants to be more than friends with his new best friend Chantry played by Zoe Kazan.

Why You Should See The F Word

As you know from earlier posts, romantic comedies are more Diane's genre than mine, but this film had all the elements for me to thoroughly enjoy it.

    • They show the best part of The Princess Bride (the best movie ever)
    • The dialouge was extremely funny
    • Toronto was the back drop for film
    • Elvis's famous sandwich, aka Fools Gold is explained and in my opinion Fools Gold is the other F Word that makes this film great
We think this would be a great movie for a A Parents' Night Out or a night out with your Best Friend.

If you see it, let us know in the comments your thoughts on it and any Toronto landmarks you recognized!

Guardians of the Galaxy - Grabbing Our Spot At Galaxy Cinema Waterloo

Wednesday night we had the opportunity to attend the screening of the new Marvel film Guardians of The Galaxy thanks to Walt Disney Studios.  Where would be the best place to see it in Kitchener-Waterloo? Galaxy Cinemas of course!

Makings of the new Marvel Franchise

I am a long time fan of the Marvel Movies! I'm talking XMEN, Spiderman with Toby McGuire,  and even Daredevil (yes I know many didn't see Ben Afleck as the superhero, but I enjoyed the film).  When Marvel upped their game and began Marvel Studios the Marvel Universe became open territory for all of their comics to come to the big screen.  This included the lesser known heroes the Guardians of the Galaxy.

    The Time For Action

I have been a long time action film fan, but this is a genre Diane is new to.  Earlier in the year we went to Need For Speed and with that she was able to see why I have a fondness for the "over the top-ness" of action films.  Now that she was being introduced to Marvel it gave her a taste of what happens when action meets superpowers.  I had let her know how Marvel tends to link their films

and that a few past characters will pop up in this film (click here for the spoiler). I also let her know with Marvel movies you need to stay after the credits for a teaser of their next film.

Guardians of the Galaxy Is A GO!

We mean it! Go see this funny, futuristic and full of action film!

Need more reason to see it? They reference KEVIN BACON in the movie!

*Warning there is a bit of Foul language, but I believe it wouldn't be anything your tween or teen has not heard before.
We really enjoyed the movie and we waited for the post credit sceen and...... nothing.
While I was bewildered by this Diane pointed out that I was not the only one, as more than half of the theartre stayed as well.
Of course I had to get to the bottom of this and on this post it is explained that the premieres did not have the post credits sceen but there is one (with the spolier of it).

    What More Could There Be?

While we thought it was great to be watching Guardians of the Galaxy @ Galaxy Cinemas our friend Wendy of the Mapsgirl Blog was at the Toronto screening and David Bautista, who plays DRAX in the movie made an appearance!

She even got a selfie with him!
So as you can see we're all about the @Guardians right now! Go see it and leave a comment with your review!
