Last night we made the trip to Toronto for the advance screening of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu and it truly felt like we were stepping right into a galaxy far far away. If you know my family you know that Star Wars has always been part of our movie memories.
Space Duo Solidified
Star Wars has always been know for their iconic Duos, Han Solo and Chewbacca, R2-D2 and C3PO and in more recent years The Mandalorian and Grogu have been added to the legacy. Now we get to see the duo of The Mandalorian and Grogu on the big screen, I know this will solidify their spot on that space duo list.
Starting the Screening off Strong
Before we even took our seats the Scotiabank Theatre Toronto had transformed its lobby into a Star Wars themed Cantina (you can see a peek in my reel below). It was a full experience with costumed characters walking around greeting guests and posing for photos. Everywhere you turned there was something to take in. It set the tone perfectly and made the night feel like an event rather than just a movie outing. It was the kind of atmosphere where you could feel the excitement building around you.

Then it was time for the film and seeing it in IMAX took everything to another level. It felt like we were there with the characters piloting the spacecrafts and movie itself was fantastic. It had heart, humour and all kinds of action.. The bond between The Mandalorian (played by my favourite actor Pedro Pascal) and Grogu continues to be the emotional core of their adventures and this film gives them moments that fans will be talking about for a long time. It was fun from start to finish and the audience reactions made it even better. Yes there was applause! I haven't experienced that in a movie theatre in quite a long time.
If you have been waiting to see where their journey goes next this film delivers. If you are new to the Star Wars universe you will still find plenty to enjoy. And if you are like us and love sharing these experiences with your family this is one you will want to add to your list.
