Halloween Parties for Families 2019

As always we recommend you check all the links as many events vary in cost and some require registration.

PD Day Pumpkin Hunt @ Waterloo Region  Museum (DOON)
Find the golden pumpkin on this PD Day to win a 2020 Family Membership.
The magic pumpkin is hidden on the Village grounds, in public areas, and in plain sight. To claim your prize, bring the golden pumpkin to the Admissions Desk.

PD DAY @ McDougall Cottage Cambridge
Drop in between 1 and 4 p.m.
$5 per child plus HST, adults by donation.
All kids are welcome to drop in for some fun games, crafts, ‘n more on your day off school! Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Monster Mash Halloween Party @ Kitchener Market
Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. - noon
Dress up your little one as their favourite little monster (or any fun costume) and join us for our fun, family Halloween party! 
Treats and music will be enjoyed and the Kitchener Public Library will be onsite, doing stories and crafts.

Uptown Treats in the Streets

Come trick-or-treating and enjoy a safe, fun Halloween experience while exploring the businesses of Uptown Waterloo!

Schneider Haus’ first annual Halloween Pumpkin Party! 10am-4pm
Carve a pie pumpkin right from our garden, decorate spooky bat cookies, make a scarecrow, and go on a Halloween scavenger hunt throughout the museum. Wear your costume and get a treat!” Regular admission applies

Halloween @ the Safety Village 10am-Noon
Halloween In The Village
Halloween in the Village is a family friendly event. Everyone is encouraged to wear a costume. You will attend a Halloween Safety session and the kids will be able to partake in fun activities including trick-or-treating in the Village, games, crafts and more.
Please avoid bringing large strollers. No wagons/carts, etc will be allowed within the event.
A portion of this event is outdoors, dress for the weather.
No dogs please.
*Tickets do not need to be printed, can be viewed on mobile device.
*Admittance to event will be at designated times, no early admittance.
*Tickets must be purchased online, no tickets at the door.

Hespeler Village Halloween Hunt 1pm-3pm
Kids will visit us at our tents located at the Hespeler Village Square (behind the library and Fire Hall) where they will pick up their map and loot bag to take with them as they journey through each participating business downtown to collect their Halloween goodies!

St Jacobs Village Trick or Treat

St Jacobs Village Trick or Treat

Grab the kids and their costumes and join us in the village on Saturday, October 26th for our village-wide trick or treat event! Children are invited to go "door to door" to each business in the village, starting at 1pm that day, for a little candy treat**!


Waterloo Central Railway is hosting a very special Halloween Train on this day, with trains departing at 10:10am, 12:10pm and 2:10pm. Children 13 and under in costume will get to ride for free this day!

Join the Village Biergarten for some pumpkin carving fun! $5 for a pumpkin and all of the carving and customizing utensils you'll need! They will be also showing Casper the Friendly Ghost on the big screen later on in the day. If it rains, this event will be hosted at Block Three Brewing instead.

Pick up your Halloween Map at Play with Clay - 10 Water Street North between Tuesday, October 22nd and Saturday, October 26th!
Trick-or-Treat at participating stores on Saturday between 11 am - 1 pm and complete your map for your chance to win great prizes! OR download and print your map at home here: DTCHalloweenHuntMap
Bring the completed Halloween Map back to Play with Clay by 1:00 pm after you're done the hunt to receive a ballot to be entered to win great prizes from the local businesses in Downtown Cambridge!

Bring the gang down for McDougall’s Family Halloween Spooktacular. It’s our annual Samhain (Halloween) Celebration and there’s something for everyone.
We’ll have treats, like home-made Scottish toffee, a “neep” (turnip) carving demonstration, and lots of fun games and crafts for the whole family. Grab a free toffee recipe while you’re there and give it a try at home.
Costumes are encouraged but not required!

Halloween Party @ Waterloo Region Museum (DOON) 6pm-8pm
Ages 12 and under
For our Halloween party, wear your spooktacular costume and be ready to have fun and sweet treats! Enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride and stroll through the lantern lit Village. What tricks will you do and what games will you play at each stop to fill your treat bag? Scary boo crafts and activities are also inside the Museum. The Halloween Party is appropriate for children up to the age of 12 years and must be accompanied by an adult. 

Admission: $10 per child plus HST, up to two adults free with each child ticket. Children under 1 are free and do not need a ticket. $11 plus HST per EXTRA adult. Only applicable if more than two adults per paid child are attending, or for adults attending only with an infant under 1 year old.
Membership discount applies. Capacity limited. To avoid waiting in line, it is recommended that guests purchase tickets in advance. No refunds. Book by phone at 519-748-1914, or purchase tickets online through Eventbrite. Event runs rain or shine.

Stone Road Mall Guelph
The Pumpkin Patch Express is rolling into Stone Road Mall Thursday, October 31st from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm.
Rides on the train are free and you will receive a sweet treat thanks to our friends at Purdy's Chocolatier!
Also, why go door to door when you can go store to store? Trick or treating is happening at Stone Road Mall from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm!

Kitchener Fire Department

The Kitchener Fire Department is once again joining in on the family fun night of Halloween. Each of the fire stations in Kitchener will be handing out candy and fire safety messaging on Oct. 31 from 5-8 p.m.
Bring your kids in costume to trick or treat at a fire station closest to your neighbourhood. Learn about tips and information to keep your little ghosts and goblins safe on Halloween with treats for the kids.
The Kitchener Fire Department wants to see your firefighter costumes, too! Share photos by tagging @CityKitchener using the hashtag #KitchenerFire and tag our fire chiefs: Chief Jon Rehill @chiefrehill, Deputy Chief Rob Martin @dc_rmartin, and Deputy Chief Robert Gilmore @dc_rgilmore.

Pumpkinpalooza @ Victoria Park Kitchener 6:45pm-8pm
It is the fifth year of Pumpkinpalooza! The fun doesn't stop for your pumpkins at Halloween. Bring your whole family as we light up the park at the Clocktower.Light them up and leave them behind to be composted...but please take your candle when you go! Come for hot beverages and an illuminating fall scene! This year we are collecting non-perishable food for St. John's Kitchen.
