Where To Volunteer In Kitchener Waterloo

Volunteering Opportunities



I get many parents contacting me regarding places for their Teens to volunteer for their required high school hours.  Many don't realize that there are so many opportunities to volunteer in Kitchener Waterloo.  I always ask what are they interested in and what career path are they hoping to get in to?

Volunteering is a great way to get a behind the scenes look at how operations work.  If they have an interest in Sports, Television, Health Sector, Child Studies, Senior Care, Environmental, Arts (and so many other fields) there are a variety of places they can volunteer to gain experience and get involved in our Community!  Here is some great places to start for teens and for yourself and/or other family members as well. Many of the places below have click able links for more information.

Sports
  • Minor Sports, volunteer coaching
  • Sports Clubs often need volunteers
  • Sports themed Day Camps
  • Outdoor Ice Rink helpers
  • SHI Tournament happening March Break 2013

  1. The Youth Drop-In program, run at KidsAbility (Waterloo), is looking for volunteers! Come out once a month for an awesome night of basketball, games, crafts, friends, and fun!! The youth are wonderful, ages 13-30, and are living with a variety of developmental delays.
    Youth Drop-In runs on the last Friday of each month from 6:30-9:00pm, Sept 2015-June 2016. This opportunity counts towards high school volunteer hours. Please contact Kyla at kyladenomme@gmail.com if interested in volunteering or if you have any questions.
