We'll start with the Disclaimer - Yes we did receive complimentary tickets, but this just means we're able to offer you a chance attend too! Enter the contest at the end of this post.
As many of our readers know we enjoy heading to the theatre for musical performances as well as comedic plays.  The Kitchener Waterloo Little Theatre has them both rolled into one this fall with their upcoming LUCKY STIFF show.

A quick synopsis of this musical farce is

“A murder throws English shoe salesman Harry Witherspoon into a chaotic adventure: taking his dead uncle on a vacation to Monte Carlo in exchange for a $6 million dollar inheritance”

Basing it on the movie trailer below we think it would make a great PARENTS’ NIGHT OUT or could be a hilarious time for families with older children (the KWLT is rating it PG-13 with adult content).

Just For Fun

Just for fun try out the WHICH LUCKY STIFF CHARACTER ARE YOU QUIZ

As you can LUIGI GAUDI was picked for me.  I’ll have to see if it rings true after we attend the performance.

With the affordable ticket prices and various dates available it could be a great wall to kick off autumn.  Be sure to grab your tickets before they are gone! Plus, we are excited to giveaway a pair of tickets in the contest below.

“Queen of Katwe” is the colourful true story of a young girl selling corn on the streets of rural Uganda whose world rapidly changes when she is introduced to the game of chess, and, as a result of the support she receives from her family and community, is instilled with the confidence and determination she needs to pursue her dream of becoming an international chess champion.

Safety Tree Safety Classes For Kids – Enter To Win

When most of us were growing up, families knew each other in the neighbourhood and everyone looked out for one another.  In fact, the most I learned about strangers was from the Block Parent information we received at school or by listing to Rick Springfield.

Modern Day Safety Concerns

Things have really changed.  Nowadays there are bullies, cyber stalkers and a lot of “Stranger Danger” in our communities.  While this is disheartening for our area, it is important to be vigilant when it comes to keeping kids safe.  It is more than just being aware of your surroundings or never opening the door to someone you don’t know.  Actually safety goes well beyond that now.  It’s important for children to know what to do in an emergency situation such as someone getting hurt or what to do in case of a fire.  All of these things are issues that kids need to be prepared for.  That’s where SAFETY TREE comes in.  They provide Safety Training For Kids.

Their goal is

“to demonstrate that we're all competent capable learners and if given the proper tools, encouragement and chance each individual has potential to succeed”

We think that giving kids the best information will make them confident in the choices that they will make when unexpected situations arise, that’s why we’re letting our readers know that there will be Home Alone Safety for Kids, My Safe Life and the Red Cross Babysitting Courses being offered in the in Kitchener/Waterloo/Guelph/Cambridge this Fall and Winter. Go to safetytreecanada.com to register for a class.  These courses may just save you from paying high rates for before and after school care, knowing that your competent kids want to stay Home Alone or Babysit on the PD Days. It will give you piece of mind knowing that your kids are safe and sound.

Safety Tree Upcoming 2016 Class dates are Sept 10, Sept 18, Sept 23, Sept 30, Oct 2, Oct 16, Oct 28, Oct 29, Nov 25

There's So Much To See @ #CNE2016 – Canadian National Exhibition HINTS

There's So Much To See @ #CNE2016 – Canadian National Exhibition HINTS

As you know we are very big fans of the shows at the Canadian National Exhibition.  This year at the EX we joined 2 more bloggers to stroll the CNE grounds and take in all the amazing shows. Here we are with Hollie and Tammy, two of our Toronto blogging friends.

We began at the Canadian International Air Show where you had the opportunity to see historic planes pass by.  Some of them soaring while others were performing stunts.

HINT: Walk through the FARM BULIDING out past the SECRET GARDEN to get a shady spot under a tree and then you also get to hear the broadcasters inform you of which planes and pilots you are about to see.

Next took the EXpress Train and we headed for the International Stage to see KONTERSCHWUNG: The Cool Swiss Acrobats perform.

HINT: Be sure to arrive about an hour ahead of time to be able to grab a seat.  Even the aisles were full with people trying to see the show.

Also in the same building we came across one of our Kitchener Waterloo friends, ChefD!

We found another #kwawesome peep in #toronto @letsgototheex #cne2016 #cne it's @chefdtv

After that it was time to get in line for the Hit List! Aerial Acrobatic and Ice Skating Show.  Attending the ice skating show at the Ricoh Coliseum is an annual event for us.  No matter what we make sure that we schedule our day around the yearly show.

HINT: This is a great way to cool down and refresh.

After grabbing some dinner in the FOOD BUILDING it was time to head for the MOLSON MIDWAY STAGE to see WANTED, the Bon Jovi Tribute and they did not disappoint!

HINT: Always check the daily schedule to ensure you get to see all the shows that are of interest to you!

You might be wondering what it cost to attend all of these shows at the CNE.  That’s the best part all of these shows were included with your Grounds Admission ticket.  Imagine if you have to pay to see all these great acts separately? So always be sure to check which shows are free with CNE admission.  You will be surprised at all the different offerings that the Canadian National Exhibition has to offer! We think it will make a fantastic day trip for any age group.
