KITCHENER – Pack up your skates and join Mayor Carl Zehr and city council for the 2012 New Year’s Levee this Sunday, Jan. 8, from 2 to 4 p.m., at city hall.
This free event is an annual ritual to mark the start of another year, exchange New Year’s greetings with friends and neighbours, and with council, in anticipation of good news for the year ahead.
Take a spin around the rink on Civic Square, and then warm up inside the rotunda, where the Kitchener Musical Society Band will perform. There will also be a special performance by members of the Grand Philharmonic Children’s Choir.
Refreshments are donated each year by Bingemans.
