Research Studies @ UofW Contact Lens
Research
Currently the top contact lens research centre
in the world is continuing to accomplish great things through research done
right here at UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO. The studies are non-invasive and all
of our participants are compensated at $20/hr for their time and often get free
contact lenses or glasses. Right they are recruiting 7-11 year olds to
participate in a 3yr study cclr.uwaterloo.ca
Centre for Ocular Research and Education (CORE)
at the University of Waterloo and is recruiting for a new scientific
study (ID: CYPRESS) that examines how to treat nearsightedness in children aged
6-9. Participants will receive up to $690 for 9 visits over 3 years, and
also receive a free pair of spectacle frames to keep.
If you are interested in participating, please

provide the study ID “CYPRESS” when you call. You will be provided with
all relevant study information prior to study enrollment and you are under no

Infant Studies Group
If you’re looking for something new and fun to
do with your child, we would love to have you participate in one of our
studies! Help us discover how children learn about language and the world
around them. Typical studies involve a one time, half hour visit. You stay with
your child the entire time and receive a small gift for participating as well!

Youth Drum and Bugle Corps
Great program for youths in the KWC area.
Our participants come not only from Cambridge, but Waterloo, Kitchener,
Brantford, and surrounding areas as well. We are not the Scouts. We
are not the Army, Navy or Sea Cadets. We are the only Youth Drum and Bugle
Corps in the area!
No experience required and we have a modest membership
fee ($20 per year). We provide a unique musical education program that not only
teaches kids to play music or perform colour guard, we instruct them how to

What: We are an indoor
playground located directly in the church building which opens its doors to our
community to allow a safe and friendly environment.

The Kitchener Rangers are kicking off the
2019-20 season with fun, food and friends at our annual Fan Fest and Barbecue
in support of the Children’s Wish Foundation!
The annual Fan Fest and Barbecue takes
place at The Aud on Sunday September 1st, 2019 from 10am-2pm as part of
the Kitchener Rangers 2019 Preseason Showcase running Friday August 30th-
Sunday September 1st, 2019.
Fans have the opportunity to meet the
Rangers players, enjoy a BBQ lunch and take part in a number of activities
including inflatable games and rides!
The Sun Life Financial Kids In Gear program,
as always, is on hand to collect new or gently used hockey equipment. Fans are
encouraged to donate to those members of our community that would very much
appreciate the gesture.
Following the BBQ, the Rangers host the final
game of the Preseason Showcase vs. the Peterborough Petes at 2pm. Tickets
will be available at the door with general seating for the game.

KW Humane Society DASH & SPLASH

Humane Society’s iconic Wiggle Waggle Walk will be all wet on September
8th as it moves to Kiwanis Park and partners with
another signature event, Surf Dogs. A 2.5km walk through the

Fall Farm Day fundraising and community event. This is a great event for all ages! Lots to see, taste and experience. Admission is a food or financial donation to the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank. Activities include face painting, wagon rides, BBQ, live music, straw jump and much more. Lumen
Lumen will illuminate the urban space and engage audiences in a hands-on, participatory experience, taking place in various locations throughout Uptown Waterloo September 28 from 6 to 11 p.m. The 2019 festival will feature 30+ visual, interactive, new media, and performance-based installations from local and nationally acclaimed multidisciplinary artists.

DESCRIPTION: Go ENG Girl is an opportunity for girls in grades 7-10 and their
parents/caregivers to learn more about the world of engineering. Please join us
at Conestoga's School of Engineering and Technology for fun, hands-on activities that showcase the power
of engineering and career paths in this field. There will also be opportunities
for participants to meet role models, learn about their work, projects and
accomplishments, and gain insight into education and career
possibilities.

FREE: This event is free
