Family Movie Night
Both A Wrinkle In Time
and Peter Pan are stories of siblings
embarking on an adventure. While Peter
Pan is a classic animated tale and A Wrinkle In Time is a live action
modern-day story, we think both films will capture the attention of family
audiences.
A Wrinkle In Time Review
While the premise of this story is for Meg and her brother
Charles Wallace to find their Father, who is lost in the universe, it teaches
the themes of hope and the importance of believing in yourself. Much like the film TOMORROWLAND,
A Wrinkle In Time emphasizes the power of positivity and how it can change the
world. While in Tomorrowland they were looking for dreamers, in A Wrinkle In
Time they are searching for WARRIORS.
The warriors they are seeking are those that bring light to world and
push away the darkness. Meg’s life has
been filled with darkness for the past four years and it takes her brother,
Charles Wallace along with the 3 Mrs. Characters, a level-headed boy from school
and a “see-er” of sorts to make Meg see the light. When Meg starts changing her ways and becomes
a warrior of light, her brother becomes the opposite. Meg’s quest now becomes a battle of good vs.
evil in a fight to save her family.
Oprah Winfrey, Reese
Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling and breakout star Storm Reid take viewers on an
extraordinary journey of self-discovery, then behind the scenes through
exciting extras! Just in time for summer break, Disney’s “A Wrinkle in Time,”
from acclaimed director Ava DuVernay, comes home May 29 on Digital HD and June
5 on Blu-ray™, DVD and On-Demand. The stunning story of an ordinary girl’s
extraordinary adventure through time and space offers exhilarating
entertainment and positive messages for the whole family—encouraging
self-confidence, inclusion and pushing imagination to the next level.
We recommend the film for those with older tweens as there
are some dark scenes that younger viewers may find frightening.
Peter Pan
Growing up we had several of the Disney records that came
along with a storybook. I always love hearing
the Tinkerbell’s “ding” letting me know to turn the page. It was like she was reading the story along
with me. Since then Tinkerbell
has been featured in several movies and shows of her own, but it was in
Peter Pan that she first appeared.
Now together as a family you can gather round and watch as
Wendy Darling joins her younger brothers Michael and John in a flight across the
universe with Peter Pan to Never Land. A
place where children never have to grow up.
This sounds good to Wendy as she is being pushed to act more mature but
she still wants to enjoy being a child. Peter
Pan wants to convince the Darling children to stay in Never Land but when
Tinkerbell sees Peter’s interest in Wendy she becomes jealous and begins to
plot against her. While Tinkerbell is
plotting against Wendy, Captain Hook is plotting against Peter Pan and his
Never Land friends. They all have to
find ways to overcome the obstacles and show mercy to one another. This film
will delight young and old with magic pixie dust and how thinking happy
thoughts makes it work, but the theme throughout the film is about growing
older and finding ways to be mature while still listening to your inner child.
Peter Pan Anniversary Edition | On Digital 5/29 & Blu-ray 6/5
In celebration of its
65th anniversary, Disney's beloved flight of fantasy, "Peter Pan,"

faith, trust and pixie dust, every member of the family will let their
imagination soar on this epic adventure to Never Land, sparkling with legendary
