Thanks to Walt Disney Studios
Canada, we had the opportunity to attend the advance screening of Disney’s MOANA. This new Disney film not only looked
fantastic, it included life lessons and some similarities to other water based
characters from Disney as well.
Make Sure To See Moana Travel The Seas
Moana is adventure movie, that because of the spectacular animation,
makes sure you are engulfed in the atmosphere. Just like Zootopia
made you feel like you were part of their hustle and bustle of their city, this
film, about a girl who is called to the sea, will have you thinking that you
are wading in the water with her.
Whether she is on the beach, sailing a canoe or swimming in the deep
sea, the scenery surrounding Moana is very much part of this story of overcoming
obstacles.
Moana Is Loaded With Life Lessons
Many in the characters throughout the film struggled with
doing what was expected of them instead of following their path. In this film you will see Moana, her Father,
Maui and even the evil Te Ka struggle with dealing the expectations of others
and learning that by being their true selves they are able to thrive. There are
also some lessons about vanity with a very sparkly crab, and a running theme of
trying to do what is right for your community represented by the island
village.
Seeing A Few Similarities
As mentioned in our MOANA contest post, we noticed some
animated sea creatures in the poster that looked very similar to the ones in
Finding Dory . Once viewing the movie, we
also thought that Hei Hei the chicken reminded us of the bird Becky in Finding
Dory and the funny coconut men known as Kakamora were working together mischievously
much like the mini snowmen in Frozen
Fever. Perhaps the baby sea turtle we were introduced to could have been a young CRUSH from Finding Nemo/Finding Dory, and we did notice the shape-shifting into Sven from Frozen as well.
Along with all of the movie magic there are wonderful songs
in MOANA and after seeing this film you’ll have some fun when people thank you
because you will be compelled to SING you’re welcome when you reply.
