Research Studies @ UofW Contact Lens Research
Currently the top contact lens research centre in the world is continuing to accomplish great things through research done right here at UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO. The studies are non-invasive and all of our participants are compensated at $20/hr for their time and often get free contact lenses or glasses. Right they are recruiting 7-11 year olds to participate in a 3yr study cclr.uwaterloo.ca

Infant Studies Group
If you’re looking for something new and fun to do with your child, we would love to have you participate in one of our studies! Help us discover how children learn about language and the world around them. Typical studies involve a one time, half hour visit. You stay with your child the entire time and receive a small gift for participating as well! Please contact us or visit our website for more information. We hope to see you soon!

Youth Drum and Bugle Corps
Great program for youths in the KWC area. Our participants come not only from Cambridge, but Waterloo, Kitchener, Brantford, and surrounding areas as well. We are not the Scouts. We are not the Army, Navy or Sea Cadets. We are a the only Youth Drum and Bugle Corps in the area! No experience required and we have a modest membership fee ($20 per year). We provide a unique musical education program that not only teaches kids to play music or perform colour guard, we instruct them how to march, perform and basically just have fun! Session Details:
The purpose of the session is help families understand and respond to their baby’s sleep patterns and language, which will in turn strengthen family relationships and contribute to achieving optimal child health.
The 1.5 hour session will be offered weekly starting January 2016 at all three Ontario Early Years Main sites with a mix of daytime, evening and weekend timings

Earth Sciences Museum @ University Of Waterloo
Conestoga Rovers Learning Centre (the “Dino pit”) open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Summary:
Allianz Global Assistance hosts an annual BBQ and Carnival in support of Send’em Off Smiling (SOS).  SOS is a children’s charity where we fundraise to purchase new school supplies, clothes and running shoes and put it all into a backpack for underprivileged children in our community for their first day back to school.

Our event will include games such as a water bucket splash, pie in the face, high striker, raffle table, henna tattoos, and many more fun carnival games where people can win prizes. There will also be a great BBQ to end the summer.  The event is scheduled for Thursday, June 23rd, 2016 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm

To celebrate Her Majesty the Queen's 90 birthday, Kitchener Centre Conservative EDA is hosting a garden party on Victoria Park Island on August 13,2016 from 2:00 t0 4:00. This community party is not only to honour a personal milestone in Her Majesty's life but to also celebrate an historic occasion in our Nation.
Light refreshments of scones, jam, tea, ice tea and lemonade will be served in tents near the band stand as guests are entertained with music by the Kitchener Music Society. Infrastructure Ride

  • Date: Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016
  • Time: 5-6 p.m.
  • Location: the ride will begin and end in front of Kitchener City Hall (200 King Street West) by the CAB bike rack
  • Details: Not sure what different road signs or pavement markings mean for cyclists?  Danny Pimentel, active transportation planning project manager for the City of Kitchener, will be leading a bike ride of the city's cycling infrastructure so you can familiarize yourself with the rules of the road and the types of infrastructure being put in place to improve cycling around the city.

The Waterloo Region Museum is pleased to host the 6th Annual Doon Cruise-In auto extravaganza 9:30am-4pm
All makes and models will be on display, custom & stock 1990 and older. Tour the living history village, visit the new galleries in the museum and enjoy a classic car show. Our Summer Music Series takes place at the gazebo with the John McKinley Band performing throughout the afternoon. The car show and live entertainment are included with general admission. Visitors: $10 Adults, $8 Seniors/Students, $5 Children, Children four and under free, Family $25, all admissions plus HST.
