Contact Lens ResearchCurrently the top contact lens research centre in the world is continuing to accomplish great things through research done right here at UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO
The studies are non-invasive and all of our participants are compensated at $20/hr for their time and often get free contact lenses or glasses.

If you’re looking for something new and fun to do with your child,

Youth Drum & Bugle Corps
Great program foryouths in the KWC area. Our participants come not only from Cambridge, but
Waterloo, Kitchener, Brantford, and surrounding areas as well.
We are not the Scouts.
We are not the Army, Navy or Sea Cadets.
We are a the only Youth Drum and Bugle Corps in the area!
No experience required and we have a modest membership fee ($20 per year). We provide a unique musical education program that not only teaches kids to play music or perform colour guard, we instruct them how to march, perform and basically

Session Details:
The purpose of the session is help families understand and respond to their baby’s sleep patterns and language, which will in turn strengthen family relationships and contribute to achieving optimal child health.
The 1.5 hour session will be offered weekly starting January 2016 at all three Ontario Early Years Main sites with a mix of daytime, evening and weekend timings

Grand River Bass Derby is a live release derby that takes place over the weekend. It offers about $6,000 in prizes to 800 participants. All kids 14 and under receive a rod and reel. This derby is held by the Stanley Park Optimists in Kitchener. The club raises money for youth projects and improvements to access to the Grand River. The angling takes place along the Grand River from Shand Dam to Paris. Moths are among the most diverse and successful organisms on earth. Their colours and patterns are dazzling and cryptic; they practically define camouflage. We might find some other night creatures while we are looking for moths. Bring a flashlight and please wear closed-toed shoes. Mosquito repellent is recommended. This activity is suitable for families with school-aged children. Children under the age of 14 years must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at the Toyota Amphitheatre.

Twilight Hike and Campfire @ Laurel Creek
Many exciting things happen when light begins to fade until just after the sun sets. We will hike and look for foraging birds over the water, and then bats later in the evening. We will finish with a lakeside campfire with marshmallows (we will provide the marshmallows and roasting sticks). Children must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at the Baseball Shelter.

Be part of an adoring audience as celebrity resident "creature teachers" from the Guelph Lake Nature Centre visit Guelph Lake Park. Learn some fascinating facts and stories about the animals and see them up close. Paparazzi and their cameras are welcome. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. For our animals’ safety, please do not bring dogs. Meet at the outdoor classroom near the pollinator garden and the new nature centre site. Preregistration is not required.

Nature Detectives @ Shades Mill (Cambridge)

Animals are well camouflaged and seldom seen by predators and humans. They leave clues such as tracks, scats, nests and dens. Join our nature guide on a detective hike and learn new skills to help find out who lives here at Shade’s Mills Park. Bring your binoculars or borrow a pair from the nature guide. A hat, mosquito repellent and close-toed shoes are recommended. This program is suitable for adults and school-aged children. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
