A Family Matters Farce From Drayton Entertainment’s It
Runs In The Family
This summer, Drayton
Entertainment’s It Runs In The Family will have you running to the
Drayton Festival Theatre to see this British Farce. It is
a relief from the heat by being set at Christmastime, a time when the hospital
has a lot of hustle bustle going on. Not
only are the characters in this show dealing with patients, a seminar and the
hospital’s annual Christmas panto, one doctor is dealing with the news that he
fathered a child 18 years ago. After
receiving the news that his affair with a nurse has made him an instant Dad to
an emotionally unstable son, he also learns that the boy is searching the
hospital halls for him. In order to keep
his past indiscretions under wraps while preparing for the biggest speech of
his career, he enlists the help of a longtime friend and fellow doctor help to
cover up what is going on. As the play
unfolds, the stories they tell the hospital staff, family members and even the
police sergeant get stretched, and the plot thickens as each character gets
involved.
Parents’ Nigh Out
We think this comedy would make a great Parents’ Night
Out. You will be beside yourself with
the facetious wit, sarcastic remarks, comedic prat falls and slapstick humour
that happens throughout the show. Just
like Drayton Entertainment’s farce Run For Your Wife, this
year’s It Runs In The Family will help you see the funny side of family
matters.
It Runs in the Family is on stage at the Drayton
Festival Theatre through August 6. Tickets
are $44 for Adults and $26 for Youth under 20 years of age. Tickets for groups
of 20 or more are $36. HST is applicable to all ticket prices.
Tickets
may be purchased online at www.draytonentertainment.com,
in person at any Drayton Entertainment Box Office, or by calling toll free 1-855-DRAYTON (372-9866).
