My First Joseph - Donny Osmond
Being a 70's born girl, I had a big crush on Donny Osmond and when it was announced in the early 90s that he would be playing the role of Joseph in Toronto, I made sure I had tickets. Many do not know this but Donny Osmond was not the first to take on the role of Joseph. Find out more in the video below.2016 Brings A New Joseph
I am looking forward to this new interpretation of the musical that is dear to my heart. Along with a new Joseph to bring the musical into the new millenium.
this new production is a re-imagining of the Biblical story of Joseph, his eleven brothers and the coat of many colours. The magical musical is full of unforgettable songs, including "Go Go Go Joseph", "Any Dream Will Do" and "Close Every Door". Book your tickets and be part of the magic!
I already have the songs bouncing around in my brain!

I like "Tommy"
ReplyDeleteOh I've seen so many it's very hard to say. This was my favourite as a kid though. West side story and fiddler on the roof were excellent at the Stratford theatre though many years ago.

ReplyDeleteMy Mom went to see Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat many years ago and even met him, she has never stopped talking about it whenever anyone mentions musicals. We have gone to so many together as it's become a tradition for the both of us. Unfortunately I was too young to see Joseph with her but I would love to experience this with her. We were able to see the Beatles last year together but this year will be an extremely tight Christmas and I would love to make this happen for her. What amazing contests you ladies have, thanks for this chance!

ReplyDeleteI have been privileged to see many, many fantastic music, especially growing up. My two favourites were Les Misérables and Joseph- which I got to see from the fourth row with Donny Osmond as a young teen. My 8 year old daughter now loves music, acting, the symphony and musicals. I would LOVE to give her tickets to see Joseph with me for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun! Good luck to all of the entrants!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see this live! I still have a VHS and cassette of Joseph but have never seen it live. I know all the words to all the songs. It has been a favourite of mine since grade school!
ReplyDeleteI have seen several musicals at the Centre in the Square over the years. I think Showboat was probably one of my favourites. Joseph has some fantastic music though. Very catchy.
ReplyDeleteI went to see Joseph in grade 6. It was my very first big musical production and has remained my favourite ever since.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Joseph, we still play the cassette we bought way back when. Surprised it hasn't worn out yet.

ReplyDeleteWe saw Dirty Dancing a few years ago in Toronto- was really good. Any chance to get out and see something non-cartoon is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI have not had a chance to see Joseph, but have seen Cats and Beauty and the Beast, all great. Anything that gets you moving in your seat is a great show.
ReplyDeleteI love Les Miserables. Not at first, mind you, which is a characteristic of a true love. Infatuation is something you love at first, and is yet to mature. I love Les Miserables because I was taught to love it by someone who understood the significance of it better than I did. When I first watched it, I was sickened by the example of desperation to prostitution, and also the vehemently unmerciful disposition of Javert over a case of stolen bread by a desperate Valjean. You leave this musical with an overwhelming disgust brought on by the conditions of desperation and abuse towards vulnerable human beings from the deluded and corrupt ones who are in positions to extend the arm of justice and mercy. I learned to love it when my girlfriend, who I would love to take to "Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat", showed me how this is an overwhelmingly powerful demonstration of the power of redemption for those who would receive it, and the grace by which it is given. Les Miserables is so true to life, and makes you feel such sympathy towards those who suffer and strive in the story. Les Miserables is about more than just "enjoying the show" and points to so much beyond itself. I really agree with the statement that "Les Miserables is one of the half-dozen greatest novels of the world", and this applies to the powerful musical.
ReplyDeleteI would love to surprise my girlfriend with these tickets, and I could use the opportunity of surprise for a surprise on top of this, if you catch my drift. and I think you do ;)
Thanks for the opportunity Diane and Lisa.
Sincerely,
Paul John K
The Sound of Music at Stratford this season. I was with a friend who had never seen the movie nor been to a live musical. Stratford did a wonderful job.
