Earlier this year we shared the great news for Canadians that The Libman Company is headed north to Home Depot Canada in our How The Libman Company Is Liberating Canadians From Hum-Drum Cleaning post.
Now that autumn has arrived, Daylight Saving Time can really mess up a schedule. In fact it can scare the living daylights out of you!
The Libman Company is here to help clean and clear things up!
5 Things To Clear Up And Clean Up During Daylight Saving Time
- Check Your Smoke Detector / Carbon Monoxide Batteries and be sure to dust them off to keep them in good working condition.
- Flip Or Rotate Your Mattress to give your comfy bed extra longevity. Be sure to wipe down the headboard and frame while the mattress is out of the way.
- Clean Out Your Food Storage Area by clearing and dusting shelves. Also check for item expiry dates and stock up on items needed in case of emergency.
- Clear Doorways Into Your Home that way you can ensure those entering won't be tripping over items left in the way. Keep a mop close by, so muddy shoes and wet boots don't leave puddles, which can cause a safety hazzard.
- Celebrate Small Victories - Nothing says celebrating a clean floor like a Tom Cruise Risky Business-style slide across it!

I wait for the first rainy day and get to work - I love fall cleaning more than spring cleaning, because usually the spring weather is too nice, and it is too exciting to be outside after a long winter, whereas by fall I kind of look forward to getting back into routines and getting the house cleaned up, purged etc.
ReplyDeleteWhen the weather outside is nasty, I stay indoors and fall back into my fall cleaning.
ReplyDeleteBack to school is when I jump into jobs that are easier without the little people home. Baseboards and blinds...the stuff I put off.
ReplyDeleteI like to take a room at a time and clean it thoroughly. It is a great time to clear out things you no longer use.

I stay consistent and just do a little bit of cleaning all the time. Our house is only 800 square metres so it's not hard.
ReplyDeleteBesos Sarah.
This time of year I usually have to go through and clean each room completely. Everything needs a washing.
ReplyDeleteEvery fall I like to move the furniture and do a deep clean under everything!

ReplyDeleteI clean up fast in the morning and in the afternoon I will take my time doing room by room
ReplyDeleteI purge as I put away summer stuff then clean before I dig out all the cold weather clothes, gear and boots.
ReplyDeleteI do a really good purge of all the closets in the house before cleaning.
ReplyDeleteI also like to get a new mop head when the clocks change - I know they don't correlate, it's just the pending time change that reminds me.
ReplyDeleteIt is always time to purge of unwanted items again and it is donate time once again. I also repaint or change a room or two. Time to get everything winterized as well by ensuring the draft spots are taken care of again. I handwash everything so I would love a mnop .
ReplyDeleteGreat tips! I always appreciate the smoke detector reminder, and I think it's such an important one to share.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips and the reminder to change the batteries in the smoke detectors!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea! Excellent tips and thanks for the reminder... fall back.

ReplyDeleteI clean clean clean. Put away summer shoes and things. Pull out winter mitts etc. Donate bags of stuff an do a heavy clean of bathrooms and floors
ReplyDeleteFall is the time of year we purge so we fall back into a cleaning routine by starting on cupboard at a time. I always find I get more cleaning done in the cooler weather. (Judy Cowan)
ReplyDeleteI try and be the same :) Maybe do alot more and more each day with the holidays coming!
ReplyDeleteI stick to a regular routine with the exception about this time of year I do a whole house major clean (like every crevice/walls etc) in prep for Christmas and the rush and before all the christmas decorations get up.
