Anne of Green Gables
The Musical
The Musical
Oct 14 to Nov 8
Dunfield Theatre Cambridge
Journey to the shores of Prince Edward Island and follow the misadventures of Anne Shirley, a freckle-faced, red-haired orphan who will immediately capture your heart with her irrepressible spirit and imagination.
Anne arrives at Green Gables full of hope for a new life, but is dismayed to discover the elderly Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert had expressly asked for a boy. Despite her fiery temper, love of melodrama and proclivity for mischief, Anne manages to charm her way into their hearts … and meet some kindred spirits along the way.
Brimming with memorable music and magical moments, Anne of Green Gables is deservedly the most popular musical in Canadian theatre history. Join us for this family classic.
The family programming in The Studio @ Centre In The Square is a great way to spend your Saturday, with packed shows that are original and imaginative and incorporate theatre, dance, puppetry and humour. Splash’N Boots
Saturday, November 28 at 11AM and 2PM
CENTRE DEBUT
Splash'N Boots began in Kingston, Ontario in 2003. It was there, while attending Queen’s University, that Taes and Nick performed their first concert together at the local Central Library as part of a class project. During that fifteen minute show Splash'N Boots was born! Splash'N Boots continued performing in the Kingston area, and then took the leap into their first big puddle by releasing their debut album Getting our Feet Wet. Since then Splash’N Boots has received 2014 and 2015 JUNO Award Nominees for Children’s Album of the Year and have performed over 1200 shows in the last 10 years across Canada from Coast to Coast and around the worl. Internationally recognized with performances in sold out venues in Australia, Bermuda, Bahrain, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Spain and California, Splash’N Boots have shared the stage with The Wiggles and the Wiggles Characters, Fred Penner, Sharon and Bram, Robert Munsch, Al Simmons, Max and Ruby as well as Canadian astronaut, Commander Chris Hadfield.
OGO: Le Théâtre des Petites Âmes
Saturday, January 23 at 11AM and 2PM
CENTRE DEBUT
Recommended for 2.5+ years
OGO celebrates the creativity and imagination of the young spectator. Inspired by larvar masks and the Simon in the land of chalk drawing, the lead characters uncover a world where they are able to meet and connect. Accompanied by live music on the harmonica, melodica, kalimboa and xylophone, the sounds complete the journey. A creation by Théâtre des Petites Âmes (2015).
Circus Incognitus with Jamie Adkins
Saturday, February 20 at 11AM & 2PM
Recommended for 5 Years +
In Circus Incognitus, virtuoso clown Jamie Adkins is the vulnerable everyman, who has just written a terrific show. He wanders onto stage with the new show in a box, delighted to find the audience ready waiting. Knowing he has just the thing, Jamie struggles to build the scene around him using everyday objects. Things go awry as his props prove most unhelpful. Theatre goers even get involved in the endeavour by tossing lemons for Jamie to catch on a fork...held between his teeth!
Room on the Broom: Tall Stories Theatre
Saturday, March 19 at 11AM and 2PM
CENTRE DEBUT
Recommended for Grades Pre K-3rd, Family Audiences
Musical based on the book by Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler. The witch and her cat are flying happily on their broomstick – until a stormy wind blows away the witch's hat, bow and wand. A helpful dog, bird and frog find the witch's lost things, and they all hop on the broom for a ride. But this broomstick's not meant for five and – CRACK – the broom snaps in two! When a hungry dragon appears, who will save the poor witch? And will there ever be room on the broom for everyone? Songs, laughs and scary fun from the company that brought you The Gruffalo and The Snail and the Whale.
Love That Dog: Theatergoep Kwatta
Saturday, April 16 at 11AM and 2PM
CENTRE DEBUT
Jack hates poetry. Only girls write it and every time he tries to, his brain feels empty. But his teacher, Ms. Stretchberry won't stop giving her class poetry assignments - and Jack can't avoid them. But then something amazing happens. The more he writes, the more he learns he does have something to say. With a fresh and deceptively simple style, acclaimed author Sharon Creech tells a story with enormous heart. Written as a series of free-verse poems from Jack's point of view, Love That Dog shows how one boy finds his own voice with the help of a teacher, a writer, a pencil, some yellow paper, and of course, a dog.

Windmill Theatre creates and presents incredible performances that captivate our audience's imaginations and resonate deeply. The company's artistic vision has created a unique and distinctive house style of theatre that makes true adventure and creative ingenuity synonymous with the Windmill name. Big Bad Wolf is the most misunderstood character in fairytale history. Put simply, he has no friends -- just incredibly sharp teeth, yellow eyes and his own ideas about personal hygiene. Luckily Heidi Hood, the second cousin twice removed of Little Red, is brave enough to see past this wolf's bad press and an unlikely friendship is born. This hilarious, table-turning tale complete with puppetry, a poetry competition, and plenty of dancing will have you wondering why you were so scared in the first place.
