Pinehurst Lake Family Ice Fishing Day Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area, 468 Pinehurst Rd., Ayr
Invite your family and friends to join you for a day of ice fishing on Pinehurst Lake. This event is open to everyone from first timer anglers to seasoned ice fisherman. There are numerous draw prizes and you will have a chance to win just for entering. This is a catch-and-release event, with prizes drawn at 2:30 pm. Equipment and bait will be available for new anglers, but there is a limited supply. A fishing license is not required by Canadian residents on the Family Day weekend, because it is being held on license-free Family Fishing Weekend. No registration fee or pre-registration required. Coffee, hot chocolate and food are available.Time: 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

SLED-a-brate with us on Family Day Monday!!
On Monday, February 16 (Family Day) from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Charitable Sled-A-Thon on the small hills at Laurel Creek Nature Centre!
This is sure to be a fun filled event for the children and families of our community. Sledders of all ages are encouraged to gather pledges and challenge themselves to 20 runs down the hills.
There will be prizes as well as hot food, baked goods and drinks for sale. Children will also have an opportunity to feed wild chickadees from their hand!
The Sled-A-Thon is a great way to bring families together while working as a community to bring such a fabulous project to life.

Family Day – Winter Tracking and Storytelling @ Joseph Schnider Haus
Time event: 1 to 4 p.m. / Historic Haus open: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
At this time of year there are stories written in the snow, and we can learn to read them.
Join Dylan Siebert of KW Forest School for outdoor games and activities that teach the elements of tracking, as well as what these skills mean for winter survival and daily interactions with our animal neighbours.
Winter Tracking and Storytelling, 1 to 4 p.m., with hands-on activities in the historic house all day, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
